First of all, hate to break it to you, but Cowboys no longer play Parcells' schem.

Secondly, I think you meant to say "SS". Hamlin likes to go for the big hit, but he is a piss poor wrap up tackler. He almost always bounces off offensive players or is eating dirt.

And he is at his best as a centerfielder b/c his man2man coverage reeks. Hamlin at SS would be scary. No one wants to admit it, but Roy is currently the best SS option on this team. After Roy it is Killa, not Hamlin.
Yep. I don't know why people keep thinking Hamlin is a SS.

The reason why people want a different free safety is because many of us on this board want a TRUE ballhawk - an Ed Reed type of presence playing centerfield per say. Ken Hamlin is NOT that type of player. This team is missing that type of player on this defense - a TRUE SS is not going to take this defense to the next level. Ken Hamlin in many peoples mind can man up at SS without much of a problem.

Dallas needs to draft at least 2 safeties in this draft. A guy like Curtis Taylor, from LSU, could replace Watkins. He can be had in the 5th or 6th round if you are lucky. Watkins is as good as gone, imo.

Delmas may have a concussion issue according to NFLDraftScout.

This would not surprise me at all. Just watching him tackle makes me wince. He loves to dive low at players ankles and he gets kneed a LOT.

I give him credit for wrapping up (most of the times) but he has got to improve his tackling form.

Curtis Taylor is very underatted in my opinion. Watching alot of LSU games the kid played really good ball this year.

I think Chung will be a nice addition for us. The added bonus him playing special teams will be big for us. He really looked good at the Senior bowl practices.

Umm... Ed Reed might be the best free safety of all time. Every team wants a guy like him.

But you don't move people out of position just because you don't.

Yeah, I watched LSU many times. If the light comes on for him, he could really be something. He's a boom or bust guy who could easily replace Watkins and play special teams or on some sub-packages. If he had Rashad Johnson's ability to diagnose plays, he would be rated much higher. He has the physical tools.

I still dont like him before the late 3rd/early 4th round..He looks completely lost in coverages at times. He seems to be more of a FS than a SS.

I disagree, he was one of the more impressive safeties at the Senior showing range to cover sideline to sideline. He always was used at time to return punts.

My own view I think Chung would be a good addition. I disagree with those who say he is lost in coverage I have not seen that out of him and he is physical coming up on the run.
totally agree

i dont even think most of the people commenting on him negatively even seen him play.

lost in coverage told me all i needed to know in regards to how much theyve seen this guy. if we dont get smith ill be more then happy with chung.

Same here. I think he is an option that could be available to Dallas in the draft and I would have no issue getting him.

I like Chung and would spend our #2 on him if he was available and someone I would prefer wasn't.

What I like about him is he is very aggressive, he is a workout warrior, has a motor that doesn't quit, he is a very good tackler, and he likes to punish people.

What I don't like about him is he is shorter than I would like at 6', he isn't as fast as I would like, while he can cover he could have issue with bigger receivers.

Sometimes he is overly aggressive, but that can be taught. By overly aggressive think Troy Polamalu and how his aggressiveness sometimes makes big plays, and sometimes throws his defense completely IN FRONT of a bus.

I liken him somewhat to Roy Williams when he came out, except he DOES tackle, not just hit a player so hard he falls down as Roy has been known to do.

Best thing about Chung is that he is ready to play, physically and mentally. He is not a project, no work ethic problems, no character issues.

He can suit up the day he is drafted and be a good player. That cannot be said about a few of the other S in this draft.

He's a good tackler, and he's a play maker.

I think he's more in the mold of a SS, but if we shifted Hamlin back, it could work.

Even if he didn't start right away, he's a good player that could definately help shore up punt and kick coverage.

And he also wasn't half bad at returning punts either.

There is a guy named Courtny Green from Rutgers, he's a pretty solid player.

He might be there later in the draft assuming his combine numbers are not off the charts.

There is also another player here at UNM named Glover Quin. He's a pretty decent CB but I think he could probably play Safety well. He's got good size and speed and he has the hips to play in coverage. He probably won't be a top CB but he might be able to project at FS in the Pros pretty well.

He goes about 6ft, probably 4.45 - 4.5 speed. Was 1st team all conference in the MWC. His partner on the other side is also a pretty fair player by the name of DeAndre Wright. He is probably a bit quicker and is better suited to play CB but he too has skills. Good kick return guy.

Couple pretty decent DBs at Utah as well.

Sean Smith is a good player. He's big time right now so if he times well, he's going to go high at CB. I think he would make a very good safety but he'll never play it and we'll never see him if he times as well as I think he will. He's decent.

:)
