Ok I dont get why every thinks they love Woods so much?
They wanted to go get Earl Thomas Twice and where suposedly willing to go yo 8m+ a year for him which i fact moved Woods to Strong.
There is alot i mean alot of Chatter on Juan Thornhill is the Guy at 58.
He is the best all around tool FS in the Draft and perfect fir for the single high.
Woods wont be the Starter over him. If they love him so much why even talk to Eric Berry?
I think thats all a smoke screen
We’ll see, I suppose.
I think they wanted Thomas last year because they were unsure of Woods, and Earl was available. They only offered a second (although that wasn’t even really verified), so they had a limit to how much to they wanted him.
IMO, they watched Woods all of 2018 and was pretty happy with how he played, lowering their need/desire for Thomas even more. I’m sure they would have liked to have him but they reportedly didn’t even offer anywhere near what Baltimore gave ET. If they would have wanted him a lot, he would be in Dallas right now in all likelihood... and they certainly would have at least made a competitive offer if that were the case.
So last year, they deemed Thomas worth no more than a second round pick and a new contract for the going rate... after watching Woods this past season, they didn’t want to pay the going rate even with no draft compensation.
So if they wanted ET... it wasn’t very badly.
As for Berry, I think they were just doing their due diligence there. He has the character the team likes and if he would go low enough on a prove it contract, I’m sure Dallas would be interested. With his injury history, they certainly weren’t looking at him as any kind of replacement for anyone. Likely just hoping for a steal on a great guy and once great player.
Again, like ET, they didn’t want him that much or he’d be a Cowboy.
As for Thornhill, maybe they’d want him to replace Woods... maybe not. Common sense tells me that they are looking at a lot of safeties that will be there in the second or third round and he is one of them. Common sense also tells me that the team is much more likely to be looking to replace Heath than Woods, who played pretty well last year.
Maybe I’m wrong - I don’t know any more than you do about what the team will do come draft day - we just don’t know. But that is how I see it right now.
