Review of 2014 picks.

Move Martin to RT, draft RT? Broaddus: I'd resign Free.

Traded up for Lawrence how did he look? He got hurt and was out, started to show something at the end of the yr. Still on board with him.

Like Crawford didnt show much, but there was a buzz about him. Look for Lawrence to be the guy you hear about in 2015.

HItchens when drafted came out of left field. Nobody knew who he was. Nailed it.

Devin Street, talking to WR coach Dooley. If they wouldve had to feed Street as much as they did TW his rookie yr you wouldve seen the same kind of yr TW had his rookie yr. A guy buried behind depth.

Of the 5 7th round picks only Bishop played for Dallas. Did some nice things when he did.

Caller Questions on these players.
Bennett from Ohio state would lean more of a 3tech. Played him at both spots early in the yr at OSU but when they decided to let him play 3tech he was one of the teams MVPs. If Dallas wanted him, they would have to go after him in round 1.

Collins CB from LSU. Big CB who can play man. Probably a 3rd of 4th round guy.

Twitter on the 20
Would it be hard not to take a RB like Gordon or Gurley if no DEF players are there when they draft RD1?
It would be hard to pass on them. Gurley in particular he does it all. Thing about Gordon is so much of his runs are outside. Not going to have same success in NFL. Better value later in draft.

Cowboys draft a good CB?
Yes, wouldnt rule out CB in round 1. 2 posistions in the nfl that every team could use another player and thats CB and OT. After Waynes there is no clear cut RD1 guy. A name to remember is Rollins Miami OH.

What about a RT?
Would be a mistake not to bring back one of the RTs. But you need tackles so it wouldnt be a bad idea to draft a T but not before the mid rounds.

How would Malcolm Brown fit?
Could play both inside spots. He can play with penetration and power. Dont think he gets past 20.

Cowboys ok at WR?
Alot of WR talent can be had in the middle rounds too. Can see the Cowboys not drafting a WR.

Is this Draft top heavy or deep?
Looks to be more deep then anything. Alot of talent in the middle rounds. Dont think there are even 10 Top 10 picks in this draft. The strength will be depth and not star power in this draft.

East West Shrine guys to look at?
Trey McBride WR William and Mary stood out. Reminds of Pierre Garcon.
Tyeler Davison DT from fresno state. Saw a few Cowboy scouts talking to him. 1tech guy who eats up blocks.
Finney C from Kansas State looked good too.

SR bowl roster one of the best they have had.
Hundley passing up SR bowl is puzzling. He underwhelmed at UCLA this yr.
Mariotta still hasnt said yes or no on playing.

Think the Cowboys would draft S in RD2 or RD3?
IDK, class is not real strong this yr. Landon Collins is best but is a box guy.
Not convinced Wilcox is the guy of the future on this team. Him and Church have alot of limitations.

Who would be best DL, LB, CB at 27?
Dont think they will draft LBer. Think they will resign their own players. Think Bruce Carter will get offered more money elsewhere.
DL at 27, Malcolm Brown if hes there, Goldman from FSU, Danny Shelton but more of a 1tech. Jordon Phillips Oklahoma. But dont know if Dallas would take a 1tech type. Best chance would be Brown.

Dupree where would he go?
Passrushers dont last, i see him going top 20

CB in mind?
Kid from Oregon. Peters from Washington has a ton of talent. Top ten talent but coaches dont even talk good about him. Have to look into him.

Oh...did not know they started doing these already.

Going to have to start tuning in again.

Was about the only show I enjoyed on there on a regular basis.

Mannnn I'd kill to draft Malcolm Brown, Jr DT out of Texas.. Kid is a straight athletic beast with power and speed .. I wish this was our dline going into next season JPP-Malcolm Brown-Crawford-Lawrence-Mincey & whoever else from 2nd or 3rd round.. Another kid from Texas I'd look at, if available in 3rd round is LB Jordan Hicks, although he's had a history of injuries, this is a very smart athletic instinctual player

Since we're already picking pretty late in Round 1, would this be a year to trade away that pick for multiple 2nd or 3rd rounders?

Seems the Patriots have done this year after year and obviously have had a lot of success.

You have to have a trade partner. And i dont see any player that people would fall in love with. This draft has 4 top 10 picks and thats Mariota, Winston, Lawrence, and Cooper. I dont even think Gregory is all that.

Thanks for posting, LM. I'm looking forward to this draft in particular because I believe it's the one that can push us over the top, and we seem to have a staff that knows what it's doing and knows how to pick players.

I dont think Dallas would have a chance at either Brown or Shelton. Think Bennett would be the guy if they went DT. I would rather have them OL, CB, And dont forget about Hundley. Drafting at 27 Hundley wouldnt be a bad pick. I dont know how id feel about a QB. But if he's BPA who knows. I would try like hell to trade out, but finding a trade partner would be hard IMO.

I don't know. Every year it seems a team falls in love with somebody they need to trade back up to get.

A little OT but is The Break done for the off season or are they still going to continue it?

Good point.

And I agree with your take on Gregory. I'm actually a student at Nebraska and have watched the guy play all year. I don't understand all the hype. He's not heavy enough to play DE in the NFL and if he adds weight he'll likely lose some of his speed. Not to mention he was constantly leaving games or not playing at all due to little injuries all the time. Kind of like Rolando for us this year.

He reminds me of a guy like Dion Jordan who Miami drafted in 2013 and now hasn't materialized. I'm by no means a scout though so I'll be interested to see what guys like Broaddus think of him.

Interesting that Dooley says Street could've had similar success as Twill as a rookie if not for the depth. I don't see it but I obviously don't know more than the coach who sees him every day in practice, so I would love to be wrong here. Look forward to seeing him progress next season.

Thanx LM
There are always QBs at the bottom of rd 1 that have "fallen" or teams picking on top of rd 2 don't want to chance missing on so they try to trade up into bottom of rd 2

I know they do the show on the offseason too. I havent listened to them in awhile. but last yr each segment got 2 days. one would do mon and wed and the others tues and thur. TC has said they will be doing tues and thur at 11. So im guessing CB will be mon and wed.

Did they discuss the TE the Cowboys would be drafting in the 2nd Round?
