FA and draft are inextricably linked:

FA:

OG: steinbach or diehlman
OLB: thomas
FS: mid priced vet (let watkins develop into the long-term answer)
Resign our vets including Gurode, Colombo, Gramatica, Crayton

Draft day 1:

Rd 1: CB
Rd 2: OG/center
Rd 3: NT (to back-up Fergie and free up Ratliff to play DE)

rest: BPA including FB, kick returner, TE, LB

With TO, TG, PC, Austin, Hurd, we dont need WR this year unless someone falls to day 2 that we cant overlook. Having said this, if BP goes I want TO gone as well and in that case WR becomes a day 1 (maybe round 1) need.

22. Dallas Cowboys - DE Quentin Moses, Georgia

The Boys could take Moses and stand him up at linebacker. Still elite lateral quickness, despite senior campaign.

I think this is just the kind of player we should be considering.

I think Carpenter will be a good OLB but I do not see him as the pressure rush the qb OLB that we need opposite of Ware. That's what we lost with Ellis going down and over the last month of the season we had to blitz an awful lot to get any consistent pressure on the qb at all. Most of the time qb's just picked us apart.

I like the idea of loading up on o-lineman and linebackers with the possibility of throwing in a WR to add to the youth of that group.

Some to consider

LB's:
Anthony Spencer
Charles Johnson
Victor Abiamiri
Jarvis Moss
Lamaar Woodley
Patrick Willis
Des Bishop
Zak DeOssie

OL

Ben Grubbs
Justin Blalock
Manuel "Manny" Ramirez
Joe Staley
Doug Free
Arron Sears
