Drafted Scrubs equals losses

No surprise the scrubs we drafted this year all look bad. Seems like our coaches and front office like to draft "projects" instead of football players.

Our special teams looks like they will move to last in the NFL. And our defense in the last third. Both of these things are shocking to me. I would have bet on a better effort and performance by both....just shocked.

Vegas has number of games Dallas wins this year at 9.5 -- which is too high if this team does not shape up fast. When the schedule came out I thought we would win 10 games. But after tonight I can imagine a season of injuries and poor performance and only 6 or 7 wins.

Goodbye Wade.

And I'd like to nominate this for the classic "gross over-reaction thread" of the first preseason game award.

Yeah this years draft class looks pretty damn weak. I'm guessing 1 player becomes a legit starter if that. Anyways the thing that irks me is we look so sloppy at times and unorganized. This is Wade's 3rd year and we seem to get worse every year. This team right now has 0 depth, if we get a run of injuries we could be in for a horrible season.

I think u said the same thing about last year draft class after the San Diego game and mind you that team had two first round picks :banghead: :bang2:

How do you figure that? Our punt team averaged a NET 47.2 yards per punt. Our kickoff team gave Oakland the ball at an average of the 24-yard line. And our kickoff return team averaged 25.2 yards per return. All three of those stats would have ranked in the TOP THREE last season.

The punt returns were bad, but the guy who was back there has zero chance of making the team.

And our defense in the last third.

Our first-team defense gave up three points in one quarter without either of the expected starting cornerbacks playing. And the first-team nickel defense was brought back in twice in the second quarter when the Raiders had third-and-long and stopped them both times.

of the entire bunch. The rest must've been real winners.

OP is right, the seasons already over. Time to look to the 2010 draft. You guise are just in denial.

Oh well, season is over. See you guys this time next year.

Damnit.....I hope I can get a refund on my season tickets......

Our 1st team units looked so bad.....especially without Newman/Jenkins....

lol.....

No major surprises so far. Not expecting much from this class - didn't see much last night.

I know it'll take at least 5-6 years to know for sure, and by then most will hope we forgot about it. Maybe Jerry will be gone by then though, so there's still hope.

Dear God! It's the first pre-season game. Keep this man away from rope, loaded firearms and gas ranges...;)

Adam to the rescue to pull the jumpers back in off the ledge. Thanks Adam.

I'm not going to overreact to anything at this point, but one coaching philosophy I am totally against is how many players in the secondary have either switched from safety to corner or vice versa or are actually trying to learn both positions. On the surface that would appear to create much depth. In reality, I think it means too many players that won't know exactly what they're doing when called upon. Heck, it's hard enough to learn one position in this league and we have rookies and younger players switching positions or trying to learn two positions at once. Just my 2 cents.
