It was just a pre-season game and the 1st one at that. There was some players I was hoping to see a bit more from such as Austin he dropped a pass from Kitna that was on the money after splitting the defenders that looked like it could have gone for big yards but again this is one pre-season. On a brighter note I thought Sam Hurd had a good night and I hope he can keep it up. Best part of last night was football is back and this game will only bring home the fact that we still have work to do to get ready for the season.

of the entire bunch. The rest must've been real winners.

:lmao: That was exactly what I was thinking.

How do you figure that? Our punt team averaged a NET 47.2 yards per punt. Our kickoff team gave Oakland the ball at an average of the 24-yard line. And our kickoff return team averaged 25.2 yards per return. All three of those stats would have ranked in the TOP THREE last season.

The punt returns were bad, but the guy who was back there has zero chance of making the team.

Our first-team defense gave up three points in one quarter without either of the expected starting cornerbacks playing. And the first-team nickel defense was brought back in twice in the second quarter when the Raiders had third-and-long and stopped them both times.

Hahaha, good one Adam! Letting logic, facts and rational thoughts into your post!

Jerry drafted with an eye toward improving special teams play. I thought the special teams looked pretty good. Could be that the rookie scrubs had something to do witth that.

On the rooks, Hamlin and Butler looked pretty good. Butler had a little problem holding the edge, but so did Ware his rookie year. Otherwise, he showed speed, rush ability, and a VERY high knowledge of the schemes for a rook. Ditto the knowledge point for Hamlin.

One other guy I thought looked ok was J. Williams. He made some mistakes but he got better as the night went on and you definitely could see the athletic talent. If he figures it out upstairs, he's gonna be a good one. It'll just take a couple years (as we all knew).

Oh yeah, and Bee-ler is as advertised.

In short, this whole thread is a hasty generalization.

I hate fans that expect every pick to be an instant Pro-Bowler I mean come on Bradie James did what his 1st year as a Cowboy sat on his arse all season he turned out to be a solid lb

Some of these guys will need time to develop :bang2::bang2:eek:ne Pre season game does not make a career people come on Billy Davis was the star wr of an entire pre season one year for us none the less and he did nothing that year in the regular season

People in Houston went stupid when Mario Williams struggled his 1st Pre season and year. They went off like other people here How that turn out for Houston last I looked they are laughing all the way to the Bank with out being saddle with VY or Bush

And I'd like to nominate this for the classic "gross over-reaction thread" of the first preseason game award.

It's close--he can proud that he made the top 3 at least!

Yeah this years draft class looks pretty damn weak. I'm guessing 1 player becomes a legit starter if that. Anyways the thing that irks me is we look so sloppy at times and unorganized. This is Wade's 3rd year and we seem to get worse every year. This team right now has 0 depth, if we get a run of injuries we could be in for a horrible season.

I would guess this would be the case for most teams in the NFL depending on the position.

Shut up your face with your stupid facts. There is no room for facts in this here over-reaction thread. NONE.

See this is how it's done:

Yes, if the majority of guys we drafted are playing this year, we will lose a lot of games.

Fortunately, none of them will play a significant amount because our team's good enough to not require rookies to play.

I'm pretty sure Hamlin was the one who bit on the play fake, got lost in coverage and allowed the wide-open catch down to the 3 early in the third quarter.
