No Collins is a OT, when he was here in his rookie season he got beat out by Leary,

Don't know what you are calling "beat out", if you're referring to Leary being the starter at the beginning of Collins' career with the Cowboys, that's silly, of course a veteran guard, who's a good player, will "beat out" a rookie most times. But per Wikipedia'

On May 7, 2015, Collins signed as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. His entire three-year contract was guaranteed and worth $1,599,000 with a $21,000 signing bonus.[16] After opening the season as a reserve offensive guard, he saw extensive action in the second game as part of the rotation that replaced an injured Ronald Leary and was later declared the starter for the third game. He eventually passed Leary on the depth chart and was promoted as the starter at left guard during the week 6 bye. He was declared inactive with a high left ankle sprain for the last game against the Washington Commanders.

In 2016, he began the season as the starter at left guard over Leary, but suffered a torn ligament in his right big toe in the third game against the Chicago Bears and was placed on injured reserve on October 4.

Collins moved to RT because of Free's retirement, he wasn't beat out for LG by Leary..

Leary didn't give the job up because he was better. That means he beat him out.
If Dez misses games, he'll start when he comes back, same for Sean lee, Tyron, Martin , and Frederick.

Since Suh took the coward route and signed with the Rams to play with Donald, we need to take our O-line to an even higher level.
The Eagles signed Bennett to play with Cox.
Overloading our line might make since.
There was some good footage of the new OT Fleming playing against Suh.

Top 3 needs are a 1T, LB and Swing OT. You want 4 I'll give you a FS or speed WR.

But the Cowboys most definately need a DT and have for many years.
They used a 3rd on m Collins. At sine point you have to develope guys. You also have Crawford who should be a dt anyway. Of course you have a monster in Irvin.

Collins is a 3 not a 1. So is Irving. Crawford is a rotation player at any DL position not an impact starter.

Nothing changes the fact the Cowboys need a 1T like Vea or Payne.

If you mean a high ranked draftee, sure. But the Cowboys have Ash, Daniel, Ross and Price. All are big enough to play at the 1 tech position.

So they don't need a 1 tech tackle in the sense of they don't have one on the roster. Are they as good as Vea or Payne? Who knows, neither Vea or Payne have played a single down of NFL football, so they're prospects only at this point...
