Oooookay. This is your previous statement:

So would I. QB's seem to slip futher than they're projected to go every year. Hopefully that happens with Beck. Hopefully, we somehow get him. We need a decent insurance policy for the future in the event Romo implodes.

Romo has been properly developed into an NFL starting quarterback. He has played very well during a limited amount of games. He hasn't shown signs of 'implosion'. By all accounts, we have a good quarterback for the upcoming season and years to come.

It is no secret that you have zero faith in Romo as the starting quarterback (much less in Brad Johnson as his backup too).

Question.

Why should anyone fret over your concerns about Romo and what qualifications do you have in evaluating NFL talent at the quarterback position?

You're going to have a hard time proving malpractice.

You don't want to seek a 2nd opinion. Take my word on that one.

I like Romo A LOT. I'm impressed, early on he made clutch passes and did well. Then, the league started to catch up to him and his development slowed. I hope he will grow and get better & better, I think he has what it takes. BUT, I don't put all my eggs in one basket--the guy has only started a limited number of games. We need to develop another real prospect for the future, we should always be doing that. I have no more "qualifications" than you do I suppose. I do, however, have common sense. I like to cover all my bases. Where is the flaw in my logic?

It was his first year as a starter and it was less than a full season at that. Your opinion would have more value if you would simply wait until his second season so that he can prove himself to his critics (you, for example).

I doubt that very seriously!

Speaking of those who haven't put all their eggs in one basket...

Jones has done so by adding Brad Johnson and Matt Baker to the roster. The draft is right around the corner and he'll probably address the position there also. Perhaps he may consider Beck. Perhaps he may not. If he doesn't, you can be certain that I'll be laughing my you-know-what off about your Beck-or-Bust stance.

Duh, but please deal with the reality that a Ricky Ray or John Beck alternative may not be in the offering.

Exactly.

Just leave it alone, DallasEast. Move on.

"Bases"? As in "baseball"?

Let's see.

You have Ricky Ray at first.

John Beck at second.

Who's at third?

Who's batting at home plate?

THAT'S WHAT WE WANT TO KNOW FROM YOU WONDER TWINS!!!

Add some outfielders too, sheesh.

The flaw in your logic is that the best player who should be added to the roster and shore up the position DOESN'T HAVE to center on simply the two quarterbacks YOU like. Buy a clue. This isn't your draft. It's Jones' and Phillips'. Expand your thinking to what the team's draft strategy may focus on. This might open new alternatives into your thinking which you can make NEW threads out of. As EnVogue would say, free your mind.
