Right back at you buddy.

Why, because I asked you if you're grading him just because of his sack numbers because you only mentioned his sack numbers? Stop acting like a child, I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. I thought he did some nice things, not 42million dollars worth of nice things though.

I can't read the thread for you Count. Try it sometime without asking stuff.

Not at 3-4 DE, you don't.

In the nickle, DE are trying to get sacks too. In the nickle, the front needs to get to the QB..

the thing about Canty was in the Nickel sometimes he would play like a mad man(mostly against the Giants) getting good pressure and maybe a sack. but than he would dissapear for a few games. I don't see him playing out that contract, hell i'll be suprised if he plays 3 years of it.

Sowwy. Maybe next time.

No such thing as a 3-4 nickel.

I don't believe I said anything about the nickel.

let the giants come at us on 3rd downs. We hopefully can keep them way off balance or counter it with a screen or two to felix and some drwas right up the gut. They'll be more concerned with sacks and we can counter that with the weapns we have(specifically felix and bennett)

ok zoners, you are missing what i am trying to say; is this a new technique that teams should look at?

how can a player that had a torn hamstring recover so quickly;

The platelet-rich plasma therapy Canty used is sure to catch on

Sounds like cheating to me. Isn't this why so many players take performance enhancers, not to make them stronger but to recover quicker?

Maybe you didn't, but the source of the whole argument was

Canty had 3 whole sacks last year playing in the nickel. I don't see how anyone can say that he "shined".

I don't think anyone ever said Canty was a lousy run player, just that he's not the sackmeister the Giants homers have been claiming.

I still think it's weird that Garafolo talks about the Giants "nasty defensive line rotation". Maybe I'm just too used to our media.

Maybe that's the problem. I wasn't trying to argue.

I think this is going to be the part of our offense that is going to be vital against good pass-rush teams. I hope the Cowboys spent a lot of time on screens to Felix, because that, more than anything is going to slow down these dominant pass-rushes. Felix, in space, is a scary thought for some of these DCs.

Then it was a misunderstanding then. I assumed you already knew what I was talking about.(maybe you have joe on ignore) So your question came off like an argument.(plus I was still trying to wake up:p:) I agree that Canty is a good player just not the kind of money he got. Right now I am more concerned with the guys that play around him than Canty himself.

Canty can rush the passer. The gaints have some Great Pass rushers in Tuck and Osi. So if Canty can provide that up the middle pass rush they will be scary.

That's a big "if" as I see things.

What did we do last year?

Demarcus Ware. Jay Ratliff. Greg Ellis.

Where was Chris Canty's pass rush with offenses worrying about everyone up front but him?

Canty is a guy that will shine for a quarter here or there and then completely disappear the rest of the game.

I couldn't have said it better. If the Giants had Rat, then I would really be upset.

I think the premise of Canty being good this season is based on the effectiveness he will have BECAUSE of the players around him. We can all hate as much as we want, but the Giants front seven is no joke. Canty enhances that, like it or not. I don't think he's worth the 42 million that he got from The G-men but he'll be a force, when combined with the other parts of that defense, if he remains healthy.

I think he helps their rotation so they all can stay fresh, but to say he will be better because of them is the reach. Look at the guys he had around him with the Cowboys and then look at his production. Rat was the inside guy getting all the attention. The Giants don't even have a guy like that. Then you had Ware and Ellis on the edges. Osi is good but he's no Ware, so that leaves Tuck being better than Ellis. So I don't see it except that they have a whole lot of bodies to stay fresh like Jimmy had with the Cowboys in the 90s.
