I was feeling nostalgic a few nights ago and broke out an old vhs tape of Cowboys highlights during the 1970s. While the offense has had its ups and downs through the years, the Cowboys were usually anywhere from good to great on defense.

I watched Bob Lilly and Larry Cole chase down Bob Griese (amazing that the Dolphins offense, featuring talent galore, was held to 3 points in that Super Bowl).

I saw Lee Roy Jordan playing with passion and instincts.

I saw Harvey Martin flatten opposing quarterbacks (he didn't miss).

I saw Cliff Harris blast receivers.

I saw Mel Renfro shut down Paul Warfield and many others.

I saw Chuck Howley make big play after big play.

I watch the way this defense plays now and it's embarrsing to the tradition of the Cowboys.

I miss Doomsday.

First off, Thomas is too small, as is Dexter, and Dat for our defense. Second, Tank has been tanked, so far as I can see. Thirdly, Larry Brown belongs on no list that's positive in nature except good luck. The nfl speed caught up and passed that boy by. However, Dungy could employ him wisely in his scheme I'm sure.
