Talking best RB’s in another thread got me to thinking Drew probably the best wide out in Cowboy history with of course guys like Bob Hayes Tony Hill in the conversation . Glad to see Drew finally get the HOF respect . Of course Michael 88 in the mix , Dez had some good yrs .

I've got to push, don't see how you can decide between Drew and Michael. Both were such a big part of their teams offense, offenses that would not have been the same without them, just ask Roger or Troy. We were truly blessed to have them both :flagwave:

Such a rich history in wide receivers when you leave off Bob Hayes and Dez Bryant as best in team history.

The new 88 shows me alot . Man his build catches the ball over the middle gets really tagged gets right back up . I’m excited to see Lamb be the focus .

Teams were crazy to pass up Lamb in the draft .

Three HOFs - and the fourth has the most TD receptions in franchise history.
Distinct styles and play for each one.
Hayes - flat out burner who averaged 20 yds per catch his entire career - but also was a very good punt returner.
Pearson- great route runner who averaged over 17 yds / catch half of his career (finished at 16).
Always did well on the "end-around" runs.
Irvin - very high volume in receptions and yardage who moved the chains, physical and fearless. Just under 16yds per reception.
Bryant - speed to run past DBs and strength to overpower them for catches \ scores. 14yds /reception

Change the rules.

Have Irvin play when DBs can hold a WR till the ball is in the air. Irvin would be hard pressed to succeed at a top level under the rules of the 70's. You needed to be perfect in your technique. Irvin played more to overpower the opponent with the famous push off at the end. That wouldn't create separation if the defender is draped on you.

Pearson on the other side would be unstoppable if let run free. He would run precise routes to get open, even when everyone knew the ball was coming to him. He still got open. That's why he would make the clutch plays. Because the QB could depend on him to be at the exact spot he was supposed to be.

To me Pearson is #1 followed by Hayes. If they have to invent a new defense to stop you, you are special. Irvin would be 3rd.

I got to go with Irvin on that one. Then Drew. I would say Bryant is #2 on the list but Drew played in a different era where the defense wasn't so limited. But Dez is like #2(b). But I feel Drew was a better all around WR.

This is a hard distinction to make. We got Irvin, Pearson, Dez, Tony Hill and Bob Hayes. 3 of them are in the HOF already, Dez will be 4. My list is
1. Irvin
2. Pearson
3. Bryant
4. Hayes

But there is not a lot of wiggle room between the 4 and an argument can made for everyone on that list to be #1.

Feel the same , both were so important parts of their teams.
