SHHHH!!!! they would rather take a QB who will get sacked 5 times, and 3 INT's, but can throw the ball 70 yards, 10 yards father than the WR. not the guy who will get it to his playmakers and let them run for 70 yards.

YOU FORGOT FUMBLES !!!!!

Sorry for repost:

Drew Bledsoe could be an option as a backup for the Saints, according to the Biloxi Sun Herald.

This is probably just speculation, but Bledsoe has ties to coach Sean Payton. Jamie Martin, 37, has failed to impress in offseason workouts. Undrafted rookie Tyler Palko and Jason Fife are New Orleans' other options currently. Bledsoe announced his retirement in April and didn't seem interested in backing up.

I think he is an option there- on speed dial. Drew won't go there to be the backup but if Brees suffered a serious injury early in the season I could definetely see them bringing him in.

Me too. I just find it funny that he thought he was to good to be a back up last year.............but this year it's a whole new ball game for him.

It's just a reporter's thought he MIGHT come back as a backup. He never said he would. Until Bledsoe says it, don't believe it.

NEITHER are great QBs anymore. That's why backups are all they should be nowadays. All the pimping on either side is ridiculous. Adequate for a few games is the best we can hope for.

There was speculation that Chucky, out in Tampa Bay was trying to convince a now retired QB to come back and play for him. Bledsoe was elluded to. I'd be very surprised if he were to do this but who knows?

Man this really makes zero sense. Where's my time machine.

Read back - the post you are responiding to clearly said that it was probably pure speculation.

he won't go anywhere unless he is starting.

This is what I think - or at least he will have to be given a real shot at earning the starting job - which he wont get in New Orleans unless Brees gets hurt.

Oh, I know Drew isn't the absolute ideal backup but look at what Dallas has now.

I like Johnson at least as well as Bledsoe. They each have their strengths and weakness, but I will take someone making a little quicker decisions (Johnson) over the guy with the stronger arm (Bledsoe) at this point.

I would think that would be Rich Gannon. He played for Gruden before and fits his system. Bledsoe does not fit his system.

I agree. When they mentioned Bledsoe, I thought to myself, no mobility. that doesn't fit Chucky's offense. However, they were saying that it could be Bledsoe. I personally, would never sign him but that's just me. He doesn't fit.
