he is one of the best qb's i've ever seen.
i started watching him at purdue in college and he was roger staubach good.

He can thank Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson for that ring. Peterson fumbled about 3 or 4 times I think in the NFCCG. And Favre's silly pass at the end.
As well as Porter who got the pick 6 in the Super Bowl to seal it.
But winning a ring will always get you a free pass.

I've heard his name mentioned many times as in the top 5 of the elite. That is such an exaggeration on many levels. Marino don't have a ring and he is deserved of elite status of his generation. I don't believe Eli or Brees could have done as good a job as Tony has done with this team.

Brees' play has been down this year. It remains to be seen if age is catching up to him or just an off year. It could be that, like other teams, that window of opportunity is closing. And his cap number doesn't help the team. The Saints need help on defense but don't have the money especially after missing on safety Byrd this year.

I agree that Brees isn't elite any more. Where I may differ is think Brees was absolutely elite over the past 5-6 years before this one. His numbers speak for themselves.
