Will Grier of West Virginia is the elite QB in this draft with Herbert a close second and Lock a distant third. Draft him in the first and his buddy WR David Sills in the second round.

I think we will have to trade Prescott to get the draft capital to move up for a franchise QB. I dont see us much worse than 8-8. But I think no playoffs gets Garrett fired and the new coach will probably want his own QB.

As far as what we can get for Prescott. Tyrod Taylor went to the Browns for a 3rd. I think we could get an little more for Prescott considering that he is younger. I could see Prescott basically being a younger version of Tyrod Taylor. Luckily for us if we do move on from Prescott, that has some value.

If we go 8-8 and lets say we pick 14, we will likely have to give up our own first, a 2020 first and likely a day 2 pick to move into range for a franchise QB. Being able to get a day 2 for Prescott helps absorb some of that
We would never get for Prescott what the Bills got for Taylor, I just don't see it. This could be a 5 win team this yr if the offense keeps going south for us. It may be the best thing that could happen at this point.

As much as people here dont like Dak, there is value in QB's with starting experience. Dak is a more valuable asset than Taylor who is basically Daks floor.

Its just a matter of demand

Interesting, I think Taylor throws a much better ball to be honest. It's been awhile since I have seen a good game from Dak, maybe I'm forgetting how good he was in 16.

Knew that name rang a bell, former UF QB that got busted for Peds. Didn't realize he went to WVU.*

Stats wise he looks legit, along with Sills V.

This is not the draft class to reach on a QB. If wrong, it sets the franchise back another 5 years.

It's still early so a QB or 2 may step up but I think this is a really weak QB class. I'm also intrigued by Brian Lewerke but that may be because a)he plays at Michigan State and b)I've been watching him since he was a sophomore at Pinnacle High School nearby in Phoenix.

Now 2020 will have Jake Fromm (Georgia) and Jacob Eason (sitting out at Washington, formerly at Georgia). I'm down for either one of those guys.
You also have the kid (can't spell his name) from Alabama who I think will be eligible. If he progress than he could be a good one.

Here's my choice for the 3rd round (since it'll be basically a late 2):

That way, we can get the UH DT in round 1, a top WR in round 2, and this chap in round 3.

love his arm.
I like Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham also.
LONG way to go....but if Dak continues on the road he is on....its a QB in Rd 1.

Only a Sophmore this year and will be the number 1 player in the 2020 draft and its not even close.. Believe the hype with this kid, he is the real deal and can spin it like Aaron Rodgers (yeah i said it!)

I was believing the hype during his first game - same as I did with Darnold. Both have it mentally.

Though, I have him down as a more raw version of Russel Wilson right now, but he should be a finished product in 2020.

Stidham would be Dak part 2. Herbert can make all the throws and is mobile. Big kid, great arm and character.

Ed Oliver would be amazing, but he's not gonna put this team over the hump like a true signal caller would IMO.
Why on Stidham being like Dak???

Stidham is very accurate. At Baylor his passes were described by a receiver as being like "the gods handing you the ball" or something close to that.

This year an Auburn coach described his passes as being "ridiculously accurate".

My only concern with him is he seems a little thin and therefore maybe injury prone.

Doesn't look like he can read a defense to me. He's a single read/RPO guy. Also hasn't looked nearly as athletic this year. Long windup. Holds the ball too long.
