Drive my drive first half details and issues with the offense

So we hear a lot from the usual types after a loss. Those that hate Dak blame him, those that hate Moore blame him, Zeke, ect....ect.....

Personally for me this was a total team loss. Neither side of the ball showed up with drive killing and extending penalties on both sides of the ball. But lets focus on the offense in the first half. Some say we abandoned the run or should have run more. Lets find out what we did and where the errors occurred to kill drives:

I will go drive by drive and what happened on each play.

Drive #1: First drive of the game at the Cowboys 20

1st and 10: Pass to Gallup for 9
2nd and 1: Pass to Gallup for 6 First Down

1st and 10: Run to Zeke 4 yards
2nd and 6: Pass to Shultz for 8 First Down

THIS IS WHERE THE WHOLE DRIVE STALLS after a great start

1st and 10: Run to Zeke, 1 yard loss (Shultz gets beat by Jones, Zeke cant bounce it outside)
Note: At this point, you cannot run the ball on 2nd down.
2nd and 11: Pass to Shultz for 6 yards
3rd and 5: Pass to Zeke for 4 yards but he bobbles it and lets the defense get to him. If he doesnt bobble it, he probably picks up a first down. Doesnt matter as its a penalty for holding on Smith.

3rd and 15: At this point the drive is done. They try to pass but Dak is chased from the pocket with pressure has to throw it out of bounds. PUNT

Analysis of drive #1: This drive was going great. Passes were working. Everything fell apart when Zeke got the 1 yards loss. That forced where we couldnt run, had to pass and then the penalty was the killer.

I really cant fault Zeke in this one although he wasnt great. Couldnt avoid Jones and bounce it outside and bobbled a would be first down pass. Its all for naught as THE OLINE KILLED THIS DRIVE all on their own. Shultz on the block of Jones and Smith on the hold of Jones.

Other guys not at fault on this drive are Dak and Moore. Everything was working, Oline screwed killed two plays on one set of downs and killed the drive. There was no error at all of not running enough.

2nd Drive:

First and 10: WR screen to Lamb. Ball nearly gets picked for a pick 6. Entire defense knew what this play was as soon as they line up. At the snap two guys break over the line as they know its going to Lamb. This is essentially the Cowboys trying to run the ball, but doing so by getting out on the edge to lamb. Great play by the defense.

2nd and 10: Run the ball to Zeke for 1 yard
3rd and 9: Pass to Zeke out of the backfield for 15 yards

Note: At this point the run has not worked as they are averaging 1.5 yards per carry. Passing game, is working great.

1st and 10: Pass to Shultz for 11 yards

1st and 10: Pass to Lamb for 9 yards
2nd and 1: Run to Pollard no gain
3rd and 1: Run to Zeke loss of 1 yard
4th and 1: Pass to Shultz for 15 yards

Note: Cowboys are trying to run the football and are getting nowhere. Its actually completely pathetic. Cardinals are stuffing everything. Cowboys had 1 4 yard run and the rest are all stuffed. Again the passing is working like a charm on a banged up Cardinals secondary. We are now in FG range.

1st and 10: Cowboys try a screen pass, its poorly blocked and Dak is falling backwards trying to get the pass off when he gets hit, ball is tipped. Could we have tried a run here? It hasnt been working.
2nd and 10: Pass to Pollard for 6
3rd and 4: False start Oline on Biadasz, he definitely did
3rd and 9: Missed pass to Cooper that would have been a first down. Looks like a miscommunication on the route. Cooper stops and Dak thinks he will continue, pass in front of Cooper.
4th and 9: Missed FG

Analysis: Here we see another drive were the running game isnt even close to working. We are now at less than 1 yard per carry. Everything the Cowboys do in the pass game is working up until the final play on 3rd and 9. And again its a penalty and screw up with the FG that stalls this drive. Oline continues to play poorly in both run blocking and pass blocking and penalties.

Note: No one can say at this point that the Cowboys are not trying to run the ball. When they run its doenst come close to working. Passing game, its working great. You can tell the game plan is to use the short passing game to attack a weakened Cardinals secondary getting the ball to the outside of the defense on the edges. Up to this point Pollard has 1 carry and one catch. Zeke getting everything else.

Not an easy fix when Dak has 57.8mil in prorated signing bonus left on the cap books and 20mil in guaranteed salary next year.

This run game has been flat terrible and the oline is sloppy, the te cant block to save his life.

We need to fix that, get ahead of the chains, and make the defense accountable.

This draft position might be a good spot to get a top center or guard. Hopefully that's where the value is. We need to reload. We need another RB to take Zekes place in a year also.

The first two drives were going fine until they were killed by penalty. If you would would like to point out where Dak failed, then be my guest. He had one miscommunication on 3rd and 9 with Cooper that resulted in a missed FG.

Is Carr going to tell the Oline to stop holding, help them block and stop false starts? Is Carr going to make Zuerline make the FG?

Pollard needs to be in a RB by committee. Personally I think he need to share the load with another talented back. In this offense he should be the lead.

Besides that Carr won't be going anywhere "for cheap." He was the highest paid player in 2017 when he signed and he has like 20 million left on his contract. The Raiders have no other hope at qb. Even if they ate cap, what makes anyone think he's going to sign a cheap contract? He's a freaking NFL QB
