seeing a lot of published (by so called experts, i.e. people who get paid for such opinions) mocks recently projecting DT Brown to us at 27 which surprises me since I didn't see him making out of the top ten or fifteen. For us to get him at 27 would be a dream to me and give us a ferocious DL with Hardy, TCraw, DLaw, and Brown. I think we can still get a good corner later, maybe in the second or later. R drafting a RB would get tricky though IMO.
thoughts?

Yes.
I'm fine with taking him if he's there. He'd be great in our scheme...IMOIMO

Hard to say but I see him going somewhere between 15-25. He's probably the only DT I would take in the 1st and can't imagine him not being on the top of our board if available. But again, I don't see it as a likely scenario.

Would love it if we drafted Malcom, but I can't imagine him falling outside the top 20 in any scenario. If he does, those teams are stupid. He's a top 10-15 talent.

It will be interesting if by some miracle he is there at 27 ,will we pass on him like Floyd?

My research indicates that some mocks have him going to the Bengals at pick 21 .

He's a different kind of 1T that Dallas would likely value. He and Shelton provide plenty of pass rush up the middle to stay on in the nickel defense and wouldn't be part-time players, likely only coming out to stay fresh. I think if he's there and Gurley isn't, he would be the pick. IMO, Brown and Shelton are head and shoulders above the other 1-Techs in the draft.

There's no guarantee he's not there at 27.

Floyd was rated top5 1T, fell to 20 something

It stands to reason a 1t rated top 20 could slide to our pick.

Some of those mocks push up guys like Gurley, KJ, and a few others and look like Brown falls just due to the numbers factor. But really surprises me to see some national level "experts" drop him that far

I think Eddie Goldman has value at our pick also, IMO he is no slouch(it would be similar to the Martin choice last year bpa on our list). I am in agreement between the two I run to the podium with Brown as my choice and if we choose someone like say Preston Smith or Jordan Philips it will confirm my values do not fall in line with Rod M's. This year IMO the value dictates a Defensive players with RB before our fourth rd selection.

Personally not a fan of Goldman in the 1st. He's powerful and can control the line, but I don't see him as a guy that will be in the backfield much. Not sure Marinelli will be a fan of a big like Goldman either. If we are looking for an immediate contributor at DT in this draft I see waiting until about the 3rd round as our best option for value. Michael Bennett, Grady Jarrett, Gabe Wright, Xavier Cooper, Marcus Hardison...I think at least 1 of those will available to us in the 3rd and all are really good prospects for our system.

I understand your logic, I too like Bennett(2nd) and then Hardison(3-4), the others mentioned are later rd material and not on my main menu. Several good projects in the later rds Laterrius Walton, Rakeem Nunez-Roches, and Derrick Lott.
We will have revealed this draft much of Rod M's coveted traits for the D.
