There was an interesting article about McDowell posted on The Athletic this morning. While everyone is on radio silence mode in regards to details with the ATV accident, his time in high school as well as his time/demeanor at Michigan State would give anyone pause about investing much if anything in him. After reading the article, I'm stunned that Seattle would have drafted him where they did, much less trade up for him. The scouts red flagged him, and John Schneider overruled them.

He was the classic unimpressive underachiever at MSU. Totally shocked when Seattle did that.

I remember a particular poster here who thought he knew it all talking about how McDowell was the best player in the draft and the Cowboys would be idiots if they didn't draft him. Now we see who the real idiots are.

It was even deeper than that. His interviews pre-draft were a complete disaster. When the leaders left the Michigan State defense after the 2015 season, the staff hoped that McDowell would take some of the leadership on. The team, a CFB playoff team the year prior, cratered to be a three win team, and McDowell essentially quit on the team late in the year.

Cant hurt to bring him into camp and see what hes got. As far as the arrest, lol, this is the cowboys dude. Thats what we do, who cares.
They checked him out back around March and Dallas's medical wouldn't clear him. He tried to take the officer's firearm and is probably going to prison unless deemed mentally unfit and is institutionalized!

If he cant play bc hes not medically cleared or in jail then obviously, no. Other than that theres no reason to believe this guy wont try out for a 53 spot anywhere.

Lets be honest, the NFL doesnt have a history to imply otherwise when it comes to medical or criminal backgrounds. Being a Cowboys fan, we should know better.

What are you yammering on about? I usually like your posts and agree with you 99% of the time. This though? I don't know what to say. You are either trolling (which is hysterical if it is) or you are off your rocker. If this is serious you need help.
Explain how I'm wrong.

Maybe, maybe not. If he is, its bc of his health. Getting arrested hasnt stopped a lot of players from playing in the league.

This guy is finished. With the question marks and blemishes before, this is the final nail in his career coffin.

Malik McDowell needs a Supervisor. He was asking for a Supervisor. Please get him a Supervisor to Supervise his life, and life choices.

Cowboys do not need another Alonzo Spellman, Dimitrius Underwood, David Irving, and Randy Gregory project. Both Underwood and McDowell played at Michigan St. under the same Head Coach.

Jerry Jones needs a Supervisor.

Underwood played under Nick Saban at Michigan State. McDowell played under Mark Dantonio.
