It was the continued eye contact that set him off.

He took that as a challenge. If you would have looked away early on, he would have let it go. When you locked eyes on him, that's like lighting a fuse for some of these guys. It's a macho thing with these Mexican gang types.

Sounds like he was on something

Better than his being on a slab. :)

The kid did good disfusing the situation. I can not beleive how stupid some people are these days. "a crinkle in the front of his baggy shirt that shouldn't be there."

Every alarm bell in my head went off when I read that.

Nah man. He's gonna end up hurting someone on his way to his end.

Someone not deserving of getting hurt.

I'm by nature a smart*** I might asked the jerk. "What type of flowers do you like?" And when that dumbfounded him, say. "I just want to know what to send to your service". :)

yeah I was at least half serious, people who go there tend to be from the lower ranks of society or those who think violence solves problems etc, probably not people you want to consort with in the first place.

When I was in high school we would fight all the time. Beat the hell out of each other and move on. We were young and dumb.

It's not the same nowadays. You get in a fight now, you could end up dead.

The rules are different. As young people, you do stupid things, the penalty back in the day was a week of suspension from school. Now it could be your life.

It certainly pays to be smart and avoid fighting altogether - especially nowadays.

Right on the head,Sarge! The older you get,the longer it takes to "recover",if you do at all. They have concealed permits in my state....I have one.

I would have laughed at him and walked off, don't be confrontational just let him know he's being dumb. When he's like so you got a problem? I would have laughed and been like what, are you serious? It's goodwill man, chill, and left.

Then I would have gotten his license plate, called the cops, and said he threatened me with a gun. :laugh2:

best way to get rid of anger is mma, boxing, or any contact sport like football.................I'm telling you i get less mad now cuz I use up all my energy and helps vent fustration............and the best part don't have to worry about getting shot or stabed!!!!!

In my admittedly limited experience with Goodwill, its patrons are normally of the cheap variety, not necessarily the poor variety. My granddad was solidly middle class, but regularly shopped at Goodwill.

Furthermore, if you're into retro clothing, there is no better store than Goodwill. I bought an orange, polyester leisure suit there.

That reminded me of this great quote from Medal of Honor winner Audie Murphy:

“If I discovered one valuable thing during my early combat days, it was audacity, which is often mistaken for courage or foolishness. It is neither. Audacity is a tactical weapon. Nine times out of ten it will throw the enemy off balance and confuse him.”
