Duke Manyweather on Tyler Guyton

Philly bullied the league last season with their OL .

Cowboys should invest in the best linemen they can and play them at their best position, if that means pick one at 12 and Guyton moving, then they should.

Shuffle whoever, no matter draft status, but make it work.
Philly has had a great O-line for years. Saquon and a defense that finally had a talented secondary to go with a pass rush made the difference. One unit doesn't win you a superbowl.

I hate to state the obvious, but I'm already resigned to Guyton getting this year and next year before they jump ship. He needs to get stronger as much as anything else. That's where the biggest leap needs to be. He should never have started the season last year. They have destroyed this kid's confidence. And he had no real experience at the college level to even fall back on. It was a perfect storm of ****. It's up to him to grow up and figure out how bad he wants this. That's what Duke meant.

Relax we knew he was a project when we drafted him. We probably shouldn't have started him at LT when but here we are. Especially during his rookie year. His only option early in his rookie year should have been RT since that is what he played in college (mostly).

All we know for sure is guyton was terrible enough to get benched. If he took a giant step forward this year he'd be average. I hope he does ok but I won't hold my breath.

They forced the Guyton pick because they NEEDED an OT.

He may still turn out being good. But he was raw, and played like trash last year.

So we shall see what the future holds. Hopefully he makes some big positive steps.

You know what this means .....

With 12th pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Josh Simmons OT Ohio State.

It's simple.

Smith goes to LT. Guyton to RT or swing and TJ Bass is your LG...

The only reason this is so hard is because they burned a first on a guy then switched his position, thinking they were smart.

It's one of the reasons we were bad last year.
I'd prefer Richards at LG in that scenario. Richards was stout at LG this last preseason.

I think Bass' lower athleticism and shorter arms are a challenge he has to overcome with tenacity. I think Richards has more natural ability. Plus, we may need Bass at RG is our plethora of other UDFAs/cheap FAs fail.

Good post, your right Guyton needs to get stronger, these coaches may be able to help him with his confidence.

If Guyton and Mazi both bust, that is not good for the future of the Cowboys.

But this is another lesson about picking players. Take the ones who want to play. The guys who like to play and play hard. The focus on physical attributes is too risky.

This season depends so much on players like Guyton and Mazi to improve over last season.
