Everyone knew before the draft he needed time
We knew when we drafted and after we drafted him that he needed time
Let's remember all of that now and give him time to develop and be the player he can. With coaching and game snaps he will improve. Not everyone walks into the NFL ready to play his best football week 1 of season 1.

For being a late first round rookie who didn’t play much in college, he looks about what we’d all expect. The tools to be great are there, however.
It was criminal starting him. Gonna kill his self esteem. No need to rush him this insistence on. It playing Tyler at tackle is weird because soon as he went down they threw him out there.

I have no issue with Guyton. I think he will get better.

My beef is with the FO because everybody knew this.

And yeah. I think he will get better as the season goes. But games in September and October count the same on a teams record as games in December.

The Cowboys drafted traits, without playing the exact position in college or many starts in general. Anybody with a clue knew there would be growing pains. It will all boil down to how badly the young man wants to improve.

extending Steele after 1 season of run blocking alone was criminal, it’s unfortunate that he got injured right after and seem to have lost confidence ( eerily similar to Gallup)

Bench Terence Steele. Move Guyton to Right Tackle. Move Tyler Smith to Left Tackle. Plug in either Bass or Hoffman at Left Guard. Problem solved.
Steele is at least playing better than last year, he's not all the way back to 2022 level but he's definitely better. They aren't benching him. Guyton just needs more time.

Yeah, it was always going to take time to not only get used to the NFL, but to also transition to the left side.

He just has such terrific physical tools that he is able to learn on the fly instead of sitting as a rookie. He’ll improve week to week and be a different player by the end of the season.

If the coaches think that a left side of Smith / Bass is better than one consisting of Guyton / Smith… then that’s what they need to do. This Guyton injury might give them a couple of games to preview Smith / Bass and allow them to make a decision on which duo they want playing.

Even the great Tyron Smith got to get his feet wet at right tackle for a season.

Honestly I dont think anyone really expected him to struggle like he has, because Dallas has actually been good with olineman, especially in the first round. Tyler Smith did a pretty good job his first year, and all the other previous 1st round olineman did too
