Does he have any experience at RT? I know he has played G/C, but if he has any ability at RT, that could save a spot.

Adams/Free
Kosier/Holland
Gurode/Preston
Davis/Preston
Columbo/Preston

8 OL - I know teams normally keep 9 but this would allow us to keep an extra LB/DB. Since we have to keep 2 kickers we need an extra spot somewhere.

It was reported he had some experience at RT, but I don't think they would want to rely on a guy to do all those spots when he's been here for a week. Too much to learn. They probably go with 9 OL.

Spagnola and Co. think Holland gets bumped off since he's a single position player. Leaving McQ as backup tackle behind free. If they go to Nine they were thinking Gibbons.

I think I like the 8 w/ Holland myself but the tackle backup becomes very iffy.

I don't think Gibbons has shown enough to be the guy to rely on for a long term injury unless they think Preston is that guy.

I think it would be a huge mistake to cut Holland. Yeah, I know he's "just" a guard. But he plays guard at a starting caliber level when he's in there. Proctor may be more versatile, being able to play both guard and center. But he's nowhere near Holland's level of play.

Against the Steelers last season, with Holland in the starting lineup, we were DOMINATING the pro-bowl-studded, World Champion Pittsburgh Defense. Rookie Tashard choice was gashing them up the gut on slants and draws all night long. All night, that is, until Montrae Holland injured his leg and was lost for the game, only to be replaced by Proctor. Our running game went away, Romo's pass protection went down, an ugly interception later... and we lose that game.

Largely because we lost Montrae Holland from the lineup that night.

To cut Holland and keep Proctor for his "versatility" would rattle my sanity.

Please say it ain't so.

Yeah... Holland said the experiment was over a few weeks ago.

Damn. Well based on what the guy has shown, and Kosier's recent injury history, I still don't think you can afford to cut him.

well that would be an asinine waste of a 5th rounder...could you imagine if we did that with 1985s fifth round draft pick.....

I don't believe they will cut Holland, he's too valuble with Kosier coming off injury from last season.

Preston is here now and doing well according to Wade, so I think Procter is expendable, or at least I hope so.

Holland is a starting calibur LG and RG.

Why are we cutting him again?

because he is slow and lazy - in that game againest Tenn he looked awful IMO

I keep Free - Preston - Mcq - Bright

Please don't tell me we are going to keep Procter and cut Holland. I was just starting to feel really good about this team...

My thoughts exactly....coaches seem high on Gibbons also.

Lets put away the annointing oil.

If Holland was that good, he'd be pushing Kosier for a starting job, and its not even a discussion at VR.

He's decent, but thats it.
