Dumb things every game. How?

of the many stupid things this teams does every game, that was not one of them. Dak throws that ball and stops the clock.
Should’ve been running Rico and trying to get a first. Mike was playing not to lose, wasn’t trying to put them away.

How about giving up an 80 yard play to #17. That is one of the all time bad plays in Cowboys history. Taking sacks on that last drive was perhaps the smartest quarterback play we have seen in 9 years.

I caught myself thinking of the “Thunderstruck in Dallas” ESPN headline from the Washington/Dallas game in 2005 where we gave up two TDs in 30 seconds…

Yay, and dropped 3 down in draft position when wins this season basically mean nothing
They probably end up between 9 and 13. They could go on a winning streak now. They should beat the Giants.

I'm beginning to really doubt the get a top 10 pick.

It's up to the football gods. It looks like they could go on a roll against the tanking Giants. All of a sudden, you have a winning streak. They next thing you know they will catch the Commanders.

That’s dumb. Just hand it off To a rb. Or let Lance run it. Not smart at all. Played scared.
Yeah, because they were. I bet McCarthy wanted those downs back when he saw McLaurin running down the sideline.

What were those 1st and 2nd down calls where Rush takes a sack???? ONE first down and the game is over. You’re not running out the clock they got 2 timeouts. What coach gives up like that????
In a game where crazy things are happening that wasn't a bad play.

....sounds like you want a "Lovie Smith" plan. Some say losing builds character, while some say losing reveals character. I want to see guys that fight, grow, get better, and stay together.....then we'll see if Jerry/FO can do something for this team.......that's productive. Just me.

We have a lot of dumb players and have for a very long time. Jerry and son have never been good at evaluating character and football IQ. In fact , I suspect they discount both.

they were good calls. trying to force washington to take time outs and run the clock down. why risk a turnover or interception. why stop the clock for them with incomplete pass.

I thought they should run the ball straight up to try to see if they could squeak out of first down there but I think they trusted Rush not to do anything stupid with the ball. Dak may have thrown the ball there, but I think if Dak was in the game they do not call that play.

The other stupid call was the play where they brought Lance in. Everyone on the field knew Lance would be running an option there. The Commanders were on the ball before Lance had a chance to see what was developing. Bringing a guy in for one play kind of tips off what you are doing. Had they brought him in during the game and used him to run different plays, Washington might not have been so sure of what he was going to do.

Then there was the 86 yard pass near the end of the game. What they heck was that? He catches a 10 yard pass and weaves his way through an entire defense playing back to score a TD? Awful!

But add to the 3 pre-snap penalties by Guyton, and Thomas running the ball in for a TD instead of just falling down to end the game. A lot of Dumb stuff happened yesterday.

Taking sacks was not stupid?
No. They were hoping to roll him out & get an open receiver for a first down but when it was covered the smart thing was to take the sack & keep the clock running.

Runs more time off the clock than a handoff to the back.

That made no sense. Instead of taking sacks with zero chance of getting a first down why don't you run the ball? The clock is going to keep going either way. They may know it's going to be a run but you still have a chance of icing the game if dowdle somehow breaks free.

And then whenever we need to stop on defense at the end of the game they leave everybody wide open and let them drive down the field and score with ease. I have never understood that philosophy. Dan Quinn was Infamous for that.

WHAT. Taking negative plays?? Just run the ball normally.
