By far the dumbest thing I have seen on this board and I've seen it by many different people, is this idea that you can't take J. Horn at 10 but you can take him at 13-15.
To say this is stupid is an understatement.
Agree...I've come around on this.Agreed.
Horn gave up 116 yds, 3 TDs, 33% completion in 7 games. He's more athletic than Surtain, has the same NFL heritage, and has produced vs. top competition.
The idea that he's not as top a prospect as Surtain is weird and I don't get it. I'd say they're extremely similar prospects and would be more than happy with either one at 10.
How many int’s did he have in his college career? I believe it was 2.By far the dumbest thing I have seen on this board and I've seen it by many different people, is this idea that you can't take J. Horn at 10 but you can take him at 13-15.

The tape is the difference. For starters Horn is grabby and not remotely as technically sound as Surtain. It's not even close. Surtain's hands are already elite. His ability to re-route receivers is already better than many NFL corners. Horn also has a tendency to stay in his back pedal too long watching the QB. Surtain is much more instinctive flipping and running.
Horn also played and practiced against significantly weaker competition.
As far as heritage, Surtain's father was a corner. Horn's was a WR. So he's got him there too.
Horn was a mid-late first rounder before his 40. Surtain was a projected top-10 pick before his 40.
What's really dumb is creating an entire thread calling people dumb based on their opinion when you gave absolutely no argument to change their minds.
I think Surtain is being over-hyped because he is from Bama.Agreed.

What he's basically saying is...its never a reach to grab a plug and play guy. Imagine fans and draft pundits disagreeing with Dallas drafting a day one starter at ten.The tape is the difference. Into the thoracic region.Wow, bringing the lumbar on that post.
Upside the noggin lolInto the thoracic region.
Maybe not an appropriate way to lay out the post but he's right. Horn is nasty..the grabby thing is way over stated. He plays with attitude and can go man or zone with anyone. Surtain is good too more Byron Jones esc, can't complain either way but watching the tape we need guys like Horn..we're soft.

even dumber to say that a player projected to be taken in rd 2 a month ago is ok to take at 10 just because he ran a fast 40 time
the idiotic fascination with CBs and WRs needs to stop
learn football
great defenses are built with great front 7 and safety play not reaching fir CBs
