Big Blow if he isn't available for the Giants game. He is the perfect guy to burn an overpursuing team like the Giants.

Isn't Kendial Lawrence similar in style and speed to Dunbar, therefore, comparable to a Sproles type back? The rookie could step up.

Not really. They've been excited about him for months. Our version of Darren Sproles.

Frankly, the way he was stepping awkwardly right before he fumbled, I'm glad that's all that happened to him. Running that fast and coming down wrong like that is a recipe for disaster.

I actually think Lawrence's game is closer to Sproles than Dunbar and I've been wanting to see what this kid can do all pre season. I'm kind of baffled as to why he's only gotten five carries up to now (all 5 from the HOF game, at that). Also puzzling is why they haven't tried using him on KO returns. With his speed, you'd think he would be a prime candidate as a return specialist.

I thought the same thing. When he fumbled, I was afraid he'd let the ball go because something popped or freaked him out.

I'm not so sure we keep 4 RBs. If anything, it's up in the air. Should be fun to see how the Tanner/Randle carries get split from here on out until roster cut-downs. I'm still not that high on Randle, honestly, and the Cards game didn't really change my opinion there. That said, I can't imagine them cutting him in favor of Tanner. I could see them keeping 4, but probably not. I could see them trading one of them for depth elsewhere, but that's hard to do given all the other cutdowns that are going to be coming. If Tanner clearly outplays Randle, though, (and he very well could) it creates a decision point for the team. This is the stuff that makes the preseason fun.

I know you're a fan, of sorts, of Lawrence's. Have you heard good reports from him from camp? My recollection is that it's been quiet on him pretty much the whole time. I've heard a nice play or two described, but nothing to indicate he's showing enough to move ahead of any of the other 4.

I'm with you..we really dodged a bullet with that fumble...he could have done some serious damage to that leg/ knee..

The Dallas China Dolls. Coming to a curio cabinet near you.

Do we have more reported injuries than the average NFL team this offseason? I haven't heard, one way or another.

Fine by me. Keep all the starters out the rest of the preseason as far as I'm concerned. Make sure everyone is healthy for that Giants game. Period.

Oh, I doubt it. On Saturday alone, the Broncos lost four starters, players who are essential to their success this year (Derek Wolfe, Champ Bailey, Wes Welker, Louis Vasquez).

Frankly, I'm ecstatic with our health so far. That's why I don't want to push it, keep 'em all out until the Giants game!

I read this physios book and he says when your toe is pointed out is when you are susceptible to injury and watching him stumble around his feet were all pointed out and not forward.

My first thought was I hope he doesn't tear a knee. Well out of nowhere we hear he has a foot sprain. ugghh

the thing is, he is a Dunbar/Sproles clone, has 4.33 speed and is flying under the radar mainly because that is exactly what the Cowboys want so he can land on the practice squad. HOWEVER, with Dunbar out for possibly the start of the season, Lawrence's value to the roster jumps way up. I would expect to see him rolled out for game 4, including increased special teams roles. He just could make a late break here and land the #4 RB spot on the roster. The clincher would be if he could return punts and kicks, but I am not sure about that.

No. They don't. But you know Tupperware- always a ray of sunshine.

Not a peep.

I'd like to think that his lack of PT is due to the Cowboys wanting to be able to sneak him onto the PS but realistically, he probably just hasn't produced since the minicamps when the pads went on. A bit puzzling considering his explosiveness and the fact that he produced against a tough SEC schedule.

Oh well.
