I can't stand Lucky, never did. For each good play he makes, he counters with 10 bad ones. His only offensive play is that stupid jet-sweep. To be fair, it occasionally works.

Bease isn't much better at returning either, we need a true threat back there. I don't like seeing Dunbar returning kick-offs either :(
This post is full of fallacies. So many of your are so negative and just love complaining about crap.

11-1.

I only complain about Lucky because I think the team could do better, this goes back to last year.....not just tonight or this season :D

Find another topic that I complain about

Oh, fallacies, sure......but it is just an over-exaggeration on my part but it doesn't change my stance on the fact that he sucks.

He messed up. Team rallied. He's a role player. I rather have him than Cole on punt return. His spot will be contested next year and rightfully so. The idea of Cole getting hurt on a return and not having him out on offense where he is an unreal mismatch hurts my face.

D Harris started to lose his impact as his tenure came to a close here in Dallas but we is 10x better at returns than what we have as options. Whitehead. Beasley, Dunbar are not the answers. And no way on Dez. We need someone with explosive speed who can make things happen. None of those have those qualities. At this point, I accept kneeling in the endzone for kickoffs and just fair catch and don't fumble on punts. He makes me nervous with how he holds the ball.

Lucky is a cheap alternative compared to other players around the league who are used as gadget players. The fumble sucked tonight, but the Lucky jet sweep scheme is deadly, and has been all year. He's been worth his roster spot for his contributions in that package alone.

I haven't seen great blocking for him from our ST units, and he's still been league average on KR's and PR's. 16th in KR average (min. attempt of 8), and 10th in PR average (min attempt of 14).

Dude's on a 3 year, 1.6 million dollar contract. We're getting our money's worth.

yeah I didnt care to see dunbar on the KO return, and lucky is not great but he has done ok.

would be nice to have a good returner for punts.

My Ferrari has a scratch in the paint. I am still very happy with the car, but when I look at that scratch, I complain about it and talk about maybe getting it fixed. I really hate that scratch, but I still love my car.

He's changed his body quite a bit this season. I'm always a bit leery at the team making quick/fast players and adding bulk. He seems to have lost a bit of his giddyup.

The good news is he's a good blocker, he's cheap and I'd give him 1 more year to grow into the new body.

Lots of the same people here complained that we didn't re-sign Dwayne Harris who is getting paid nicely to be an okay special teams player in favor for re-signing Beasley who is #1 in WR DVOA this season.

I'll give Whitehead some more chances.YR

who knows, might have a chance to get D.Harris back, at 5 million per year for the Giants, I was pretty sure I caught on a highlight reel, last week Harris had his 1st pass reception this year as a WR...........if so he is at risk of being a cap cut.

Some people just aren't happy unless they have something to complain about.

I'm happy...

I just think with the playoffs looming that we should get Dez back their some on punt returns.

He has special ability as a return guy and big plays will be at a premium in the playoffs.

I believe in the 3-year rule with players (for the most part). Whitehead is in his 2nd year. Harris is a ferocious blocker and good in coverage, but he simply lost his technique and his technique needed to be spot on in order to be a good punt returner (doesn't have the speed for kickoff returns). Lucky has the speed, but his strength was his speed 'getting out of the gate.' He doesn't seem to quite have that this year as his lower body in particular looks much bulkier.

Lucky will win a foot race; that's not in question. His problem is he's severely indecisive and not fluid in his cuts, constantly breaking down, chopping his feet to gather himself to make a cut. It's a poor combo to have as a returner.

I'm not gonna kill the kid over that fumble. He's had a couple of bad moments with ball handling but he's been a bright spot this season. I like his athleticism and shiftiness. He's obviously a threat with the Jet sweep and all the action that results from this threat. Remember the huge 4th and 1 long pass vs GB, as well as the big Jet Sweep run that dug us out of a hole, leading to the score before the half.

I wonder how many of said posters knocking him, were going crazy when he returned the KO versus the Rams for a TD. Yea, I know it was a preseason game.
Or when he took that jet sweep close to our own endzone for 40+ yards to turn the GB game in our favor.

With the new rules, kickoff returns are becoming rarer and it already was a matter of luck/kickoff breakdown to spring one to the house.

Is he upgrade-able? Absolutely. But he isn't some trash player.

It's his second year in the NFL, coming from a small school in Boca. First year everyone on here was knocking him for being too small, he bulks up his second year and may of lost some pep. Give him another year to find that balancing act between the two. And bring in another guy to give him competition in the offseason.
