Vikes have the gem in their punt/kick returner Coreiddle............or the cheifs with the kid with 4.25 speed

Patterson is also a former 1st round pick and costs a lot more and for the most part, contributes about as much as Lucky does when he's not returning kicks/punts.

I think that is what is getting lost in this. Whitehead is a very cheap salary, in his 2nd season and is the 5th WR on the team. He has some value to this team between his ability to return, his ability on jet sweeps and he can play in the jumbo package which has value since he's eating up some snaps.

His ability to protect the football has been frustrating and yes, we should try to get him some competition next season. But, not at the expense of a high draft pick. And if he doesn't get his initial burst back next season, then we should really re-consider how we reconstruct the bodies of smaller, fast players like Whitehead and Felix Jones who we screwed the pooch on as well.

Why does he get switched out with Beasley? Is it trust factor on punts that may land close tot he goal line?

I think it is and I was mad that Whitehead was in Punt Return late in the game after he already fumbled!

Patterson plays in coverage units (just started this season) and has played well there.

He's a much better version of Whitehead and I'd love to bring him in here and solidify the spot for the next 4-5 years with a proven playmaker.

Probably because the coaches think he is the best returner to give us a "splash" play. Especially with the offense having issues getting going.

Yea he fumbled, should he been cut right after? Players make mistakes. I assume they still trust him out there.

I can't stand Lucky, never did. For each good play he makes, he counters with 10 bad ones. His only offensive play is that stupid jet-sweep. To be fair, it occasionally works.

Bease isn't much better at returning either, we need a true threat back there. I don't like seeing Dunbar returning kick-offs either :(

Ten bad ones? Really?

Whitehead isn't "all that and a bag of chips", but he isn't horrible. I would look to upgrade the position if the opportunity arises, but its not like he is the one thing holding us back from getting to the super bowl.

Harris isn't here anymore because the Giants paid him handsomely to depart here and put on a Giants uniform. They overpaid for his production.

We should keep an eye out for the next Hester in the late rounds in the draft. We might be able to get a guy who sucks at receiver but is a dynamic returner in the 5th round or later.

IIRC we gave up a 4th to get Harris. We also gave up a 4th to draft the other returner from LSU that failed to make it out of training camp. I cant remember his name.

Skyler Green?

Harris was a 6th round pick.

I think he's fine and adds a real element on the jet sweep. Could he be better? Yes but people are talking on the thread about replacing him with someone way more expensive. I think he's due for a big return later this season.
