Durant deal a violation of league rules?

Great, another phantom rule we supposedly violated.


You just know Mara is talking with Roger right now telling him the only fair thing to do is to take our first rounder.

That's right. No one has signed anything and no one has reported that anyone has signed anything.
They have come to tentaive terms, but no agreement can be signed until cap room is cleared.
I'm not sure why Clarence Hill felt compelled to stir something up that was false.

Durant thinks he's a Cowboy too.

The Cowboys can't announce an agreement. Durant and his agent can, but the Cowboys can't say anything until a contract is in place.

If Dallas did announce an agreement, then the league would have something to get mad about.

What the reports said was that Durant "plans to sign" as soon as the Cowboys free up the cap space. If he's made up his mind, that's his own business -- but it doesn't mean there's any undisclosed agreement already in place.

Until the player signs and paper work is turned into the league office there is no deal. Now both sided may have a verbal agreement but that is not binding. If Durant changes his mind or another team comes in and offers more then he is still free to sign with who ever he chooses.

Last I checked ESPN reports don't determine league rulings
