Great, another phantom rule we supposedly violated.

You just know Mara is talking with Roger right now telling him the only fair thing to do is to take our first rounder.

That will teach us a lesson.:p:

Then he should post the rule that's being violated.

He posted a rule on his Twitter but I don't know if applies or not.

Here it is and it doesn't fit this situation if you read the qualifiers.

Section 1. Undisclosed Terms: A Club (or a Club Affiliate) and a player (or a Player
A ffiliate or player agent) may not, at any time, enter into undisclosed agreements of any
kind, express or implied, oral or written, or promises, undertakings, representations,
commitments, inducements, assurances of intent, or understandings of any kind:

(a)involving consideration of any kind to be paid, furnished or made available or guaranteed
to the player, or Player Affiliate, by the Club or Club Affiliate either prior to, during,
or after the term of the Player Contract; and/ or

(b) concerning the terms of any renegotiation
and/or extension of any Player Contract by a player subject to a Franchise Player
or Transition Player designation.

Those sound more like under-the-table payments.

I don't see what could be illegal. He hasn't signed anything and could still walk and sign with any other team

“@ReggieGreen21: @BryanBroaddus, What do u think about the signing of LB Justin Durant?” There is no deal from what I have been told.

No way its illegal...........so you mean to tell me that if we had only $2 million in free agency and we were talking/negotiating a contract with Drew Brees that it would be illegal. Not true. Its an agreement, there is no contract as of right now.

I honestly have no idea how Calvin Watkins has a job...............Anyone on this message board could do 100 times better than this moron.

Meant to say Hill but I will not retract on Calvin.

We would need $0 cap space if he was signed to a deal less than or equal to our top 51

That's right. No one has signed anything and no one has reported that anyone has signed anything.
They have come to tentaive terms, but no agreement can be signed until cap room is cleared.
I'm not sure why Clarence Hill felt compelled to stir something up that was false.

Don't knock his best talent - 'stirring something up'.

Mike Fisher says the Cowboys did not announce an agreement and say there still is not one in place....officially.
He says it sounds like the agent jumped the gun.

He still thinks Durnat will be a Cowboy, but if the was a mistake it could result in a fine

Durant thinks he's a Cowboy too.

The Cowboys can't announce an agreement. Durant and his agent can, but the Cowboys can't say anything until a contract is in place.

If Dallas did announce an agreement, then the league would have something to get mad about.

What the reports said was that Durant "plans to sign" as soon as the Cowboys free up the cap space. If he's made up his mind, that's his own business -- but it doesn't mean there's any undisclosed agreement already in place.

Until the player signs and paper work is turned into the league office there is no deal. Now both sided may have a verbal agreement but that is not binding. If Durant changes his mind or another team comes in and offers more then he is still free to sign with who ever he chooses.

Have either sides come out and said a deal has been done?

Last I checked ESPN reports don't determine league rulings
