Dwayne Harris' Ceiling

Harris is a playmaker, no doubt. He needs to get to the point where he's running the right routes all the time.

He's an intriguing player. I like guys who show up when the lights go on.

The fact we are struggling to find a similar receiver tells me he is unique.

He will be a beast when it comes to getting RAC.

Glad people are back on the Dwayne Harris bandwagon. Same thing happened last year after he took a short pass to the house, which I didn't find nearly as impressive as his plays this week.

As far as who he reminds me off, I'll say he reminds me of a niftier Devon Bess - who is much better than he's given credit for. His ceiling is potentially higher than Bess'.

came here to say bess as well, was happy for his name to show up with control f, good call

He plays like a running back after the catch, he's fast and has burst, so no not Patrick Clayton, he does look faster than last year and explosive.

Gonna throw something out there for you guys to consider/breakdown.

How about a less explosive Percy Harvin? Just as deadly after the catch, built more like a RB than a WR, but has the skills needed to get open and good enough hands. Hand crafted for the slot.

I see that.

Roddy White/Victor Cruz. Similar height, weight and speed. Better with short/intermediate routes.

He had one good play last year some solid plays this year, most of which were wide open for the taking. Give him credit on the long td catch and solid camp. But to compare this guy to Cruz/White:eek:

Even comparisons to Patrick Crayton are  Crayton was one smooth cat. Hands like glue( except against the Giants divisional round). Ran good routes, made plays in traffic, came back to the QB on broken plays and made plays on special teams.

It's scary how fast people forget. Dwayne Harris is the current pet cat, just like Amendola, Stanback, Otree and so on...There is one every year.

Nope. Last year he had a couple of gimmes, and I was saying the same thing. But the route he ran for his first td last week was beautiful, and splitting the tacklers on the second after the catch was legitimate, too. He's come a long, long way this camp, and it's obvious. He needs to keep working, but he's got a shot at being a contributor in this league if he can keep making progress.

He's no Cruz or White by a long shot...I don't see that comparison at all, and Bedford is more of a Crayton that Harris is, but if the guy continues to develop, he'll be a legitimate NFL starter at some point.

I agree with the bold no arguments there.

Wow.

Bess is the guy I immediately thought of before reading the thread. Noticed two other were thinking the same thing. I'd be more than happy if D. Harris produces like Bess.

Tony Romo would be happy too

I swear some of you are just naming the first random receiver that pops in your head. Roddy White? Really?

This happens all the time. I think fans really don't watch a lot of games outside of cowboys games, and so if they saw the guy break a tackle in a highlight reel on espn they assume the guy always plays like that.

Your right, those two aren't similar at all to Harris. They aren't even comparable to be each other lol

He reminds me most of a Deion Branch type. A glue guy, dependable and tough....perfect #3 receiver if he pans out.

You just want DH to have the ball in his hands he makes things happen. He's got one speed fast forward

Reverse taking a hand off from Chris Johnson.

He's snickky quick after the catch he just has a feel for the field.

He'll make something from nothing ..... he's strong as an ox

Maybe it's just the dreads, but I see a lot of that Marion Barber violence in him after the catch. He just starts running with a purpose.

I just got a feeling at some point that he will take over as the #3.

I don't understand some of you. Fast? Explosive :wow: He did the most with what he had. He was wide open against a crappy rams defense and ran forward with good balance but not vision. He ran towards the two defenders when putting a move could've probably let him get in untouched. I think he will do well but he is NOT Roddy White, Percy Harvin, or any of the other big name receivers you want him to be. Deion Branch is the closest name I saw that he reminds me of. Solid receiver with good not great hands and good not great speed.

Why compare him to anyone at this point...why can't he just be Dwayne Harris. :D

I think his ceiling is an older real life version of Landry Clarke.
