whether or not you agree with Harris comments. Coughlin has gotten that team two superbowls by doing so.

True but I think that rough tough Coughlin has died down and they also had some great defensive linemen.

Anyone who is still doubting Garrett and the direction he's taking the franchise, should be able to read Harris' comments and feel relieved that we now know Garrett is doing it the right way.

This is 100% the way I want the team run. I don't want the players any more comfortable than they were under Jimmy Johnson... which is to say, not at all.

When Jimmy Johnson left, all the players talked about how much more fun they had under Barry Switzer than they did the intense Johnson. How relaxed they were.

Of course the players are going to enjoy less competition for their spots and more security in their jobs. Why wouldn't they?

Well, the team is finally not comfortable anymore. Finally.

As for the more "professional" atmosphere... that's what the players said with Switzer after Johnson and with Wade Phillips after Bill Parcells. The "he treats us like men" remarks are always the beginning of the end of good teams.

So, so glad that Garrett is more like Jimmy and a lot less like Wade.

Let's see how much fun it's gonna be for Dwayne on opening day.

Calling the Cowboys training camp an "all out brawl" is about the highest complement that an ex player could pay the team.

I don't want anyone comfortable in camp. I don't want anyone relaxed in camp. I don't want anything fun for the players. I want a tough, hard-nosed camp where everyone from Romo down to the bottom of the roster players are worried about their performance and the competition for their spot on the 53.

I absolutely love it. Like I said... not much could have made me feel any better about the team than this.

...and the funny thing about it, I knew nothing about NY's brawl until I read it here and heard Dez mention it in his interview yesterday. Just goes to show you.....it's not a crime unless the Cowboys do it.

Had it been Patmon and Street, I doubt a lot would have been said about it either.

People love to say, "Oh look how volatile Dez is! He's a loose cannon!"

Well, Dwayne, enjoy your summer camp. Enjoy sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows singing Kumbaya. Meanwhile in Oxnard, the Cowboys will be having TRAINING camp. Working.Sweating.Fighting.

Dallas has beaten the Giants four straight games, and 5 of the last 6.

Coincidence?

Anyone agree with this. This makes me respect Jason Garrett a bit more than i do already.

I can agree up to this point, I don't mind the intensity as long as the technical aspect isn't being ignored. I don't mind the fights and all but don't ignore the proper techniques ...

When I watched the video of the involving the NYG players, the first thing that came to mind was that theirs was much closer to a "brawl" than the Dez/Patmon event. To me, the word "brawl" implies that more than two were involved. The fight against Oakland in last year's TC was closer to a brawl. From what I saw, the NY fight was more intense and involved more players. The Dez/Patmon skirmish was hardly a "brawl".

I can't be angry at Harris. He was trying to give a politically correct answer to a stupid question. I really doubt he hated his time here, but what can you say. The guy is a good football player (even if he doesn't have a position) and he took a contract that he was NEVER going to see elsewhere. I hope he does well for himself - so long as the Giants Offense and Defense remain putrid :).

Harris was one of the best all around special teams players we've had in 20 years....though the competition was a bit slim.

I'm a big fan.

But when they play Dallas I hope they clean his clock and he fumbles on his first return. And I hope he misses every tackle opportunity as well.
:)

Btw, I know for a fact he loved playing for the Cowboys

Coincidence?

For years they were the team that displayed the toughness and fight and not the Cowboys. Those Cowboys would almost always fold late in the second half and gift the game to the Giants.

Now, the shoe is on the other foot. Last year's game where NY jumped out to the lead and Dallas got stronger going into the second half, was actually the mirror image of how it used to be in this series.

Harris' quote thrills me so much that I can't help but feel a little giddy about it.

I have been wanting Dallas to be this way for so long. Thrilled.

Amazing...and I will call out the likes of Cavanaugh and Sharrif at every opportunity whenever they pull that crap. I don't care how many times they catch feelings. Nate Newton is more legit at the job than they are and he isn't journalistic in no way no how. He just has more character than they do (integrity).

I am very optimistic with this team, but to talk dynasty, when this team has not won a SB is ridiculous. In the salary cap era(I do not count the 90's cowboys because the cap just started), the only dynasty as been the Pats.

I'm not sure about ridiculous . Its what we do as fans. Predict and comment on things. Trying to predict who is going to win the Super Bowl this year is a stretch too.....:) But we do it. Because its fun.

Maybe , a little grandiose thinking :)

But, I dont see Garrett going anywhere....anytime soon. He could have a tenure as long as Belicheck has had....And with the foundation of a young dominant OL, skill players are going to want to play here......hell, they already do.

And once garret wins that first one, he will establish a system, which he is doing right now, which will make this franchise a winner for years and year to come......

Thats what I see. Of course, he could get hit by a bus tomorrow.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier but Harris said a lot more and not all of it was good.

He basically said our practice was on edge and out of control while the giants were more professional. .I think he just schooled both fan bases into thinking his comments were pro _____insert your team here.

We're going to miss him on special teams, he was one heck of a gunner.

Agreed. Harris was one of the most underrated and under appreciated members of the team. He contributed on all ST units, was a very good returner and cover guy on kicks, and may have been the best blocking WR on the team. I think he could have contributed more as an inside receiver if he got a chance, but Beasley emerged and closed that door.

The Giants overpaid for him, but they got a good versatile player who fills a number of roles.

Heard an interview on a Giants podcast where they interviewed Dwayne Harris and asked him to compare and contrast the Cowboys/Giants environment

Said Cowboys practices are much more intense and competitive.. Described everyone as being on edge

Said Giants practice is more "Professional" and that guys have fun and look out for each other's safety

Also commented on the Dez/Patmon situation and said that that is normal for Cowboys practices and that Dez is just that way and that it isn't a big deal

Additionally said that the Giants were an overall more finesse group

Just thought it was interesting to hear what he had to say.. I am glad that we are on the intense side of things rather than the finesse side of things lol

if you want to listen to the whole thing here is the link http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2015/08/listen_giants_training_camp_overview_surprises_top.html

Nothing here surprises me. Did anyone expect him to say he mised Dallas? lol
