Dwayne Harris deserves his own thread

I remember reading an article by his college coach saying how he is a pure football player, and will be a major contributor in the NFL. His small school status hurt his draft round, but I'm glad he's getting a chance.

I love when small school guys get a chance and prove that they can also play the game.

Extend this kid now Jerry.

he's no Jerry Rice.....but speaking of small schools......

you do know we cut him right? Yeah we found him in round 6, but Jerry an company gave up on him and were lucky no one picked him up.

I wouldn't say that gave up on him. They immediately signed him to the practice squad a day later after he cleared waivers. Taking a calculated risk would be a more fair assessment. Regardless, I'm glad he still has a star on his helmet and we aren't referring to him as another Amendola that got away.

Hanna HAS looked good.

I like what Harris brings. I think he's a tough WR in the Hines Ward mold.

Harris plays with grit, much like Murray, has the courage, commits to his decisions / moves, and plays through defenders. He has really come along this year.

Harris is tough and clutch. He is just, as they say, "a baller". He shows great football instincts and the game has never appeared to be too big for him. I'm so glad that nobody picked him up last year when we cut him! That did happen right?

i think he's one of the toughest players on the team. he has some thickness in his lower body (n/h) that allows him bounce off tackles. very physical runner.

I think we put him on the PS.
Then brought him back later in the year. He also had a hammy issue for a little while in the middle of the year.

Really proud of how Harris is coming on. Nice to see a 6th rd draft pick starting to come into his own. Question since Jerry is blamed for bad picks does he get kudos for Harris or was that someone elses pick? :laugh2:

jerry gets credit. the way he was pointing at him after punt return looked like a man pleased with himself. :lmao2:

I think he is more pleased to see Harris getting it done.

Really, I think the kid fell into the RKG group. Team captain, good grades, former QB, etc. In any case, he's a ball player. No doubt.

Jerry gets credit; however, it still does not make up for other things that hurt this team over the years.

You can't change the past only how you do things moving forward. Dallas has some young talented players on this team. Unfortunatly some are out for the season. They clearly have areas that need improvment but then you can say that about a lot of team with areas of weakness. Coming out of last season i don't think anyone could say the secondary was not in need and Dallas addressed it. I would like to see us do more on the OL and think they will.

I'm not saying Jerry does not deserve heat just that if you are going to put blame on past bust on Jerry at least give him and the organization for many young players who are showing good talent.

That sounds correct. We had to cut him before we placed him on the PS so we were certainly fortunate.

Can we now be rid of Ogletree?

Harris brings something to the table Ogletree does not.

He becomes a running back when he catches he ball, good things happen when he has the ball in his hands
