I would say Yay, he is a baller and big game player, and i am never one to mind a player with a little fire.

He's not my first choice, but if the Cowboys braintrust decided he was their guy, I would look at his college production at ages 18, 19, and 20, and hope there was much more to come in the NFL...I certainly wouldn't be disappointed that they value him on his production and skills and weren't afraid of the 40 time.

Nay, rather have any of the other major receiving prospects or CB with a 2nd round receiver than Jarrett.

We've got enough speed at WR. TO and Glenn are NOT slow.

I say yay! Meachem = one year wonder. How long has Bowe been doing this? Jarrett has been producing at USC from Day 1. USC signs the best WR's in the nation bar none. He was their best his 3 years there. He is a big time player. The only thing he lacks is top end speed (I don't need to remind anyone of Jerry Rice do I?).

He runs good routes, has great body control, top notch hands, and comes from a pro system. If he ran a 4.55 instead of a 4.65 no one would question his selection.

The Pac 10 isn't exactly a pro system, it's a pass heavy conference. And while we may have speed at WR now we won't when TO and Glenn are gone. Glenn will be 33 this season and is playing with a bone on bone condition in his knee and TO will be 34 at the end of the season. They aren't exactl sure bets to stay healthy, and if TO keeps his drops up then he may not be with the team past this year. Who do we have with speed after that?

You do need to remind people of Jerry Rice because according to Gil Brandt he ran in the 4.4 range. Jarrett lacks great explosion times and isn't the type of physical WR who creates separation with his strength. He's just a tall WR who could be a decent RZ threat in the NFL, but even that's in question because he doesn't have the strength or quickness to beat press coverage. Jarrett has as much bust potential as anyone in the draft.

If he's the best player available you take him.....no questions asked.

That's my draft philosophy. You don't take a guy just to take him. You don't draft for need. You stack your board, then take the BPA.

And you never draft a kicker.

NO!! People forget he is somewhat of a malcontent like Mike Williams. He looks a carbon-copy to me, even his game-breaking skill in college that I don't think matters in the NFL. I would say draft Anthony Spencer, regardless if he was a reach, so D-Ware had SOME help on the line, but if we were drafting a reciever, I say draft Meachem; if he spends time in the wieght room gaining strength, in a few years, he will be like T.O. without the attitude.

His production say's YES.

His timed speed and prickly attitude towards SOME say's NO.

I'd feel much better about him if we trade down to the end of the 1st, beginning of the 2nd.

The Pac-10? Who cares about the Pac-10. USC runs a pro system. They utilize the run and the pass equally.

There is two differences between Jarrett and Mike Williams. One, Jarrett is not coming off of a year without football. Two, his work ethic is not questioned. Only his "timed" speed.

Its just weird to me how people fall out of love with production. But fall in love with workout numbers, which tend to disappoint alot. This isn't some 5'9" linebacker who had 500 tackles in college. This is a 6'4" 220 WR who was the best on his stacked college squad. AND who played his best in big games.

If he's there at 22 and JJ decides his the BPA, then I've got no problems with it.

Has Mike Williams written all over him. Can't gain separation on the next level. Don't worry, the Gmen will make the mistake ahead of Jerry at 20.

Do not draft Jarrett...I'd take Dwayne Bowe any day and twice on Sunday over Jarrett. For all you LSU/Cowboy haters out there, just remeber that Bowe couldn't SEE the ball before his Senior year when he had surgery on his eyes and he still managed to be the career touchdown honcho at the Ole War Skule. Out of all the receivers available to be drafted in the first round I really feel that Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Bowe are the only ones who can carry the load and be #1 WR threats. All the rest are #2s at best with the exception of Ginn who I would characterize as a #2/return threat.

So....with the 22nd pick of the 2007 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select from Louisiana State University, Dwayne Bowe.
