If he plays the first four he's guaranteed. Not happening folks.

8 sacks in 11 games.

He doesn't have to be an every down player and he knows that. Therefore he pay is commensurate with the amount of snaps he gets.

Wants to go to a team with a winning record... That's not us.

Who's to say he wouldn't see us as a contender? 4 - 12 because of the injuries. 12 - 4 the year prior.

Not gonna happen. This team isn't going to sign any old free agents. They haven't for a few years now and that is the teams MO these days.

I don't know why that isn't evident to all.

Frankly it is smart not to do business that way. Pay youth. You always end up with dead money on your cap when you sign old guys.

No one is saying pay the man 50 mil for 4 years.

We have no one with any kind of production behind our two starting DEs right now. He should be looked at and seriously considered, unless there is some other productive DE on the market I don't know about.

So you think the team will sign him?

I'm saying we are building off our stupidity from the draft if we go into the season with the group of DEs we have right now. But not, we most likely won't sign him because some scrub will flash in TC and we'll think we can get by with him until Lawrence and Gregory returns.

If he would play for cheap (and I mean like vet min. cheap), then maybe. But he won't. And Dallas won't. So it isn't going to happen, IMO.

The truth is, signing a 36 year old DL isn't typically looked at as a good thing in the NFL. The wheels could fall off at any time, if they haven't already. Bringing him in at anything other than a vet min. deal would be crazy and desperate. This team has been righting the salary cap ship for a few years now and it would be way outside the realm of what they've been doing to bring in an old guy. Not just an old guy... but a way old guy.

It would be a major regression in their personnel moves to make a decision to bring in Freeny.

A lot of the time you and I are in agreement. This time we're not and that's ok.

I agree. I'd be happy with signing Freeney. If it's for the vet minimum and we hope he doesn't even make the 53. If he does make the 53 then one of our young guys is awful and has no future with Dallas. That's the only way I see Freeney on the team in week 1.

Generally I agree. He might be the exception to the rule. Taking a chance signing now vs waiting until after game 1.
