can never have enough Rushmen........sign him up and get the AARP discount

What is the liability if he breaks a hip or has a heart attack? Does he have to carry one of those, "Help I've fallen . . " buttons?

Oliver Vernon only got 7.5 sacks and he got 80 million with 45 million guaranteed. Lol if you do not think that freeney and his 8 sacks are not worth at least 1-2 million. Hahahahaha please.

Same people who thought Fitzgerald was done except at 32 he got 109 receptions 1250 yds and 9 tds.

Sometimes it's better to go with older and experienced over youth w " potential". We should try to build our team with a happy medium of both especially in regards to free agent acquisitions.

I would pay Freeney 1-2 million. Easily.

He said that he wants to play for a contender, wrong team.

He said he's used to playing for winning teams. It doesn't seem like these "contenders" are fighting to sign him. He either settles for who gives him an offer or he retires.

Then you cut him and move on....it's going to be a vet min deal with incentives.

Cutting someone with the contract that he might command could be fairly painful unless he signs for considerably less than I think he would.

Another aspect of his possible signing would be the fact that he intends to play for a potential contender. We don't quite fit that mold just yet.

We signed Mayowa for more than $1 million per and we don't want Dwight Freeney at $1 million per?

Yes he's 36 years old, but he is still effective and a good mentor for our current younger pass rushers.

Here's a guy with technique and hustle. Just older and injury prone but should be good for at least the 1st 4 games.

Garrett and Stephen have a process.

Wins are hard to come by in the NFL and the first 4 games should not be taken lightly. We need some speed at pass rusher other than just Mayowa.

I agree that Cowboys need to add more talent to DL before season starts. That post you quoted was sarcasm.

Most teams aren't going into the season with two knuckleheads at DE with suspensions. You neglect these positions early on in FA and then don't draft them high, you start looking at aging veterans.

And I'm not exactly sure what kind of money you think he is going to demand. We are in May, he's not getting any interest; he's pretty much desperate at this point. Maybe he doesn't get "vet minimum", but he's not getting anything you or anyone else should worry about. If we start stacking vets, then you should worry. This is a non-issue.

I cant see any reason bringing him in would be bad. Hes a great mentor and does his job. Would be great in a rotation once our guys get back as well.
