Yes, I know we have all said our piece about the dysfunction of the franchise and the Jones’ clan. We are getting an up close illustration with the defensive coordinator search and now all the assistant coaches trying to escape the lame duck situation. Can you blame any of the coaches wanting out of Dallas for what is likely a longer guaranteed contract in Washington?

Dan Quinn is just trying to fast track the process because of familiarity with these coaches. The Cowboys lame duck situation is at the heart of all the upheaval. Lateral moves are typically only done if you really like working with the other head coach more than the one currently supervising you OR the contract future is much more appealing.

These assistant coaches can see the signs/symptoms of potential impending collapse and want the hell out from the looks of things. Not the kind of harmony you want in the coaching staff nor front office-but we knew that already!

What's happening with the assistant coaches happens every where. Teams block coaches every offseason from making a lateral move.

Good point, I wonder about the players, do any of them want out too??
They should if they want to win something more than a div title.

The players at least the smarter ones, should see that they as a team have already peaked , and it can only go downhill,
so if they stay they are playing for the money only, with a little hope they might do better in playoffs if they stay.

Dak seems to have liked all his coaches lol, and will stay here as long as he can.
Parsons has already shown signs he wants out, but if he extends, he is stuck here, same for cd, who seemed like
he was unhappy about what went on in the gb game. Will he stay for the money? or move on?

All they have to do is start playing badly and maybe jerry lets them go.

If I wanted to go to a SB I would not want to be playing for dallas, but go to a team that is serious about winning.

Man, why did Tex and Tom and Jimmy get us hooked and now were being led by Jed Clampett, Jethro, and Elly May?
Oh, how fate is laughing at us.................

That's unfair to Jed Clampett. He might have been a simple country hick, but he was wise, wasn't a fool, and was competent in the things he knew and knew to ask experts about the things he didn't.

Yes, and many times it relates to the future outlook on their current team and the way it might relate to their job security and guaranteed money.

They signed a contract and got paid. If it's not a promotion and you still want them....keep them. Or, they can quit, lose their check and take a week off. The new DC may not want them.....then they can walk.

Yeah, but you can tell there are several that want new long term contracts with what may appear to be a better foundation. Does a new defensive coordinator get much say as to the assistants on staff? I would think any of the big names would like to bring in several assistants of their own-but it may be a situation where Dallas just says make it work with what we have.
