Dallas Cowboys

Chuck Howley, linebacker

The Cowboys have a few options, but Howley, a six-time Pro Bowler, five-time All Pro and one-time Super Bowl MVP, has the most on his side.

Howley was ahead of his time as a terrific athlete for the position, which gave him a modern-like edge in covering backs and receivers. He also was prolific against the run and getting to the quarterback.

Howley actually has a case as the biggest Hall of Fame snub from any team, period.

yes you are 100% correct, superbowl MVP, have no idea how he can not be in there already.

I remember Deron Cherry as a freshman at Rutgers. I was a 5th year senior on the team. I always wanted to keep an eye on South Jersey talent. He should be in the Hall.

Cliff Harris?

I'm too young to have seen him play live but I've read he was one of the best safeties of the '70's.

Losing games to the 60s Packers and we lost the Super Bowl he was named MVP in. Pretty simple to figure why he’s not in. The Cowboys kept coming up short in the big games and it kept several players out of the Hall of Fame.

I saw him play he was an excellent player but not a Hall of Fame player. Not easy getting into the Hall of Fame as a safety.

There are a few I would say are HOF talent. But most are just good to really good players and that's why they didn't make it. But Cliff Branch should be there.

I would think the 5 Time All Pro alone should do it.

Though there are a few guys with 6.

The biggest snub looks like Alan Faneca. Who? Never heard of him. But 6 All Pro + 3 more Pro Bowls. And the guy only missed 2 games in 13 years. Guess LG just aint a sexy spot.

Jim Tyre at T had 6 All Pro plus 4 more Pro Bowls.

Erik Williams

I know he played for a short period of time, but when you embarrass the greatest DL to play the game every time you played him then you need to be in the HOF

I swear if that accident did not happen, easily the best lineman the boys ever had. John Madden loved this guy and his nastiness. I think the BIG E after the accident keeps him out of the HOF.

Harvey Martin still holds the unofficial sack record. Was a member of the All-70s Team, and a Co-MVP of the Super Bowl...Martin has more sacks than HOFers like Fred Dean.
