Eagles.com: Can Defense Carry Momentum Into Saturday's Game?

I think blitzing alot Sat. is the only option they got........They cant let Romo sit back there and lay another 300+ on them

Totally agree, I just find it funny that they talk as if lots of blitzes is good for what ails ya!

I really hope Dallas runs the ball even better than they did last week. Nothing says power and domination like an unstoppable run game.

They blitzed almost 60% of the plays the first time, and Romo had 300+ that night too.

Yep, the Eagles are just not the better team this year and that is all it boils down to.

If we take care of the football, we'll take care of the Eagles again.

I dont see how they can beat us without getting several turnovers.

....as laid out in another thread, what Garrett did formation wise Let Romo and the Oline see their blitz hand.....

I see them, firing things up the middle, the shortest route to the QB, and will have a good chance to run right into some of the Freeze draws....and if nothing else, will keep Kosier, Gurode, and Big from peeling off quickly and into their 2nd level.........

The Giants are always seemingly able to get Romo on the move in the pocket with the strenght of their front 4 middle penetration.........Reid will try to simulate anyway he can, and throw a monkey wrench into the Freez Draw at the same time....

risk vrs. reward

They showed that game over again on NFL replay a couple of days ago. They didn't succeed very often on the blitz. Romo was making them pay over and over again.

Hence the reason why they tried a different strategy the last time.

IMO, the Eagles are in a bit of a quandry, as neither defensive strategy worked. Though they are most likely to return to their blitzing ways, as they will not go down without a fight.

What kind of momentum does a Defense have in a game where they gave up 474 yards to an Offense that had the ball for over 2/3 of the game?

That is honestly one of the dumbest media articles I have ever seen.

It didnt help that we had a ton of penalties, including that bogus holding call on Gurode that wiped out the great screen pass to Jones on the first drive. We had a first down well inside their territory, I think we'd have scored again there. We also missed a chip shot FG.

Again, we had almost 500 yds of offense for the game. We still had almost 200 yds in the 2nd half, when they supposedly "stopped us"

Yup, we basically kept on racking up the stats in the second half, even after we stopped playing, and when they started to.
