Very good player. The Eagles offensive line would be taking a step back without Mathis and Herremans. It will be interesting to see how this impacts Jason Kelce - as an undersized center, he needs strong guards alongside him.

I'll be glad for him to leave Philly, but being able to pay our guards a comparably low salary makes the other pieces easy to acquire. He's better than Leary at this point, but Leary's a whole lot cheaper.

I don't see a guy like this but I could see someone who gets squeezed out in FA signing a vet minimum contract at the end of the offseason if they don't have any other alternatives. I think the most likely scenario however is drafting an OG in the 4th or 5th round to groom with Bern for a year and then take his spot in 2016.

I think he wants to save money somewhere after blowing his wad on RBs. Evans is also up there in age and Herremans the other guard left in free agency.

The nfl usually doesn't value OGs as much as the other positions anyway, but in the eagles scheme they play the spread so the thinking is that makes it even less important. Most OGs coming out of college spread offenses are better pass protectors than run blockers.

I hope they do release him just because it will weaken their line. But there is no reason for Dallas to look at him the Boys have two young very good guards.
