Let’s see what he does this year and then bring this back up. If he was so good the eagles would have never let him go the first time.

Whether he's a GREAT QB or not isn't the argument - the argument you calling him "just a guy". He's not, he's a borderline starter and has had big seasons and big playoff performances in this league. That's not "just a guy" stuff. Starting QBs are hard to find, even true quality backup QBs are hard to find....which is why he's still in the league.

Again, he's more than "just a guy" - so much so, he's found himself in the history books. We can only hope Dak comes close to that, right?

Tagging Foles would have been a huge risk. The risk being that they would be stuck with him. They were wise to let him go. Arguably they would have been wiser to get something in return for him this past season but what's done is done.

I think there are a lot more teams than people realize that want to move on from their current QB. Dolphins just proclaimed they weren't ready to commit to Tannehill for 2019. Broncos obviously have a gaping chasm at the position. Jaguars do not have a QB they can win with. Commanders do not have a proper 2018 starter. And then there's rumblings that the Raiders or Bucs or Giants or Bengals or even Cardinals could possibly move on from their current incumbent. Much, much stranger things have happened.

Everything that's happened to Philadelphia since we fired Chip was "I really don't think this will work out for them." We invested a ton of money and draft picks into 3 different QBs on the roster in 2016, which was unprecedented. We basically hired the poor man's version of the coach we fired not 3 years prior. We lost our starting QB 2 years in a row, and still won 4 consecutive playoff games (in which we were the underdog in every single one).

And now the big roadblock is way may not get a decent draft pick for the Super Bowl MVP QB? I'm not sweating this one. Let's watch and see how it plays out.

a team like chicago could take him as a back up if that happens. keep him out of the hands of the eagles. he's shown tremendous value as a back up. Matt Nagy could do worse in that position.
He’s going to be paid too much to be a backup. He’ll be a starter for some poor team.

Hey if he’s so great he can play anywhere. I think we’ll see the real Foles this season.

Kind of want to defend him here. But honestly his stats in Philly are pretty nice, and if he does end up being magic in Philly and a pumpkin everywhere else, that just makes us look good. So... maybe you’re right.

That was if he falls flat on his face (if he is signed in Jacksonville) ... like if he crashes and burns in the town that crushes the souls of signal callers...

If there is a market for him, he’s gonna be able to convince a team to give him pretty good guaranteed money so that’ll at least give him 2-3 years. He won’t have the market of kirt cousins, but if you look at what cousins got guaranteed and work it out, could happen.
