Giants maybe not.

Commanders should land Jayden Daniels next week
No guarantees Daniels pans out. The last two top 5 QBs Washington has drafted went bust. The first four picks could be QBs and Williams is the highest rated. It’s no assurances any of them become franchise QBs. One or two of the top ones may pan out but it’s a crapshoot.

Devonta still has years 4 and 5 on his rookie deal so he’s at 5y 94m total, slightly less than what Christian Kirk signed for in FA 3 years ago.

Biggest thought with this extension is it doesn’t start until 2026, when the top WRs will be making 35-40m$ AAV.

This offseason will see extensions for

Amon Ra
Chase
Waddle
Aiyuk
Higgins
Lamb
Jefferson
Collins

Howie did the same thing here that he did last year with Jalen Hurts: make sure you’re the first extension out of the gate or it’s just going to cost you more money. Lamar Jackson wanted Hurts’ deal + more. Herbert wanted Lamar’s deal + more. Burrow wanted Herbert’s deal + more.

What happens if 3-4 guys sign, suddenly Amon Ra is now up to 30m+ a year and Lamb hasn’t signed yet. What do you think his agent is now gonna ask for? You knew this time last year he’d be a Cowboy lifer, probably could have gotten him for 25m$.
You underestimate the brilliance of the Jones. LOL.

They never learn their lesson. Waited too long to resign Elliott (frankly, shouldn't have signed him anyway), waited too long to extend Dak, etc. I suspect they'll cost themselves big bucks with Lamb and Parsons too by waiting.

Jerry and Stephen are hyper-reactionary. A few years ago they took the Howie approach and tried to sign guys early to stave off potential massive raises later only to get burned. Tyrone Crawford was one example, where coming off a good year, they extended him thinking they would get a rising player cheap compared to what they might have to pay him a year or two later. Crawford got banged up, they flip flopped him between DT and DE and they never got the value of that contract.

I mean yeah, but in the last 8 years, they have two SB appearances and a SB win.

We have 2 playoff wins. LOL.
That SB win was now what, 7 years ago? Not exactly last year. What was last year, however, was one of the biggest collapses in NFL history.

LOL this is funny coming from the guy who wants to compare SB win totals and our last one was 30 years ago.

Philly has been more successful than us recently, even with their collapse last year. Homerism is a powerful drug.

We beat the Eagles last year and could beat them this year.

Great.

Hope you bought yourself a "We Beat the Eagles in 2023" banner for your basement.
I just think it is funny. Do you think that they can't beat the Eagles again this year?

Price is going up or maybe it doesn't matter because CeeDee is getting Top 3 WR money.

With the exodus of players I think we can move away from "we like our guys" to "we don't like any guys."
It’s more like we can’t pay our guys. We’re in a spot trying to figure out how we can re-sign three players

Luckily Dallas is the only team with draft picks to fill our needs. LOL

This is nothing but deflection from you.

Do I think we can beat the Eagles? Sure. We've mostly split with them most years and we seem to go back and forth winning the division while the Giants and Commanders seem stuck in purgatory.

None of that changes the fact that they have been the more successful franchise over the last decade.

Over the last 10 years:

Cowboys:

5 divisional titles
3 playoff wins
Zero NFCCG
Zero SB appearances
Zero SB wins

Eagles:

3 divisional titles
6 playoff wins
Two NFCCG appearances
Two SB appearances
1 SB win

Oh and we have them head to head over that time period. By any sane person, the Eagles with their better playoff success and SB win, would consider the Eagles having a better 10 year run. Cowboys fans, the homers, are left to try to argue that head to head and divisional titles means more and that Dallas has been better. LOL.

That signing is a massive mistake.
DeVonta is a good player but he is no where near a top 10 level guy and playing as a WR1 is a massive question mark.
This isn’t WR1 money anymore, it was 3 years ago, but the cap has gone up like crazy since then. Lamb, JJ, Chase are all gonna get over 30m. Higgins, Waddle, Ridley, Aiyuk will all sign around was Devonta got. This is top end WR2 money for the best deep ball hands in the nfl
