Granted it's preseason, but Samuel got burned bad earlier and they just don't look good at all tonight.

Yep it's only preseason but I've got to admit I've really enjoyed watching them playing like absolute crap.

The Steelers first team O had their way with them and then even their second team cashed in on that 3rd Eagles turnover.

I've loved watching them look like trash so far in the first half tonight. I'd love it if they played this poorly all year long.

Cause for concern because it was the 1st team playing like crap. We saw this song and dance last year with our preseason red zone woes.

You mean that the Iggles aren't some kind of Super Human unbeatable team? Shouldn't the East title already be handed to them?

Preseason. It literally means nothing. There's no way to know what they're trying to do, or what they're looking at. Or to measure motivation or effort for their first teamers. The Eagles will be ready to play come week 1, no matter what. The only questions are how their OL and LBs hold up, and can they keep Vick upright all year.

Tell that to the doom and gloom crew from last year.

Detroit went 4-0 in the 2008 pre-season. They finished the regular season 0-16.

Vick had a QB rating of 0 against Cincinnati last year. He then had an MVP-caliber regular season.

Point is? Pre-season means nothing. Teams don't gameplan for the opposition. They just try to do their own thing. Are you worried that Tebow completed a deep pass last week? I'm not. Cos preseason is about evaluating the 2nd and 3rd stringers, determining which ones make the team. For the starters, all I care about is them staying healthy.

 Eagle's apologist at it again.

Oh, I did. Last year. I got mocked for it once the season started, too. :)

But it's true. There's too much going on in a preseason game to figure out what bearing it has for one team in the regular season. I know we all know that, but I'll keep saying it. Especially since we'll end up losing a few games ourselves the next few weeks, and I don't want to see that nonsense crop back up.

Ya but the difference was last year Vick was not nearly as experienced at running Philly's offense. The fact is, Eagles starters looked like complete crap as a whole vs. a good team to measure up against so keep ignoring that all you want. They played an entire half; not just a couple series. Please don't go around giving Detroit Lions 4-0 stats when comparing the Eagles... It's the Lions dude.

Not to mention Pittsburghs 2nd string offense scored against Philly's first string defense. So can I measure their 2nd string? Or does that not count because the starters were out?

Preseason or not, what people refuse to acknowledge is that Vick makes POOR decisions when feeling pressured. He is NOT a presnap read type of QB and his style of play is not conducive to long term success in the NFL.

This. It doesn't matter what they were trying to do. He was picked off 3 times last night. But he could have been picked off more because of decision making. Say what you want, preseason doesn't make it okay to play stupid.

 So because I'm not bagging a team for their PRE-SEASON performance, I'm an Eagles apologist? If I don't drink the "Cowboys Silver and Blue Kool-Aid" I must be an Eagles fan trolling, right?

People on this board believe what they want to believe. Commanders beat the Steelers, but it doesn't count "because it's only pre-season". Eagles lose to the Steelers and "they suck" even though it's still only pre-season? I could care less how any starters play in pre-season. Like I said in my first post, it means nothing. It's more about evaluating the bubble players to see which ones make the team.

Eagles are 6-26 in Pre-season road-games. They're a historically bad pre-season team, but they end up being pretty good in the regular season. If you want to put a great amount of stock into pre-season, that's cool. I could care less how Philly plays. But I'm not willing to write them off based on a game that meant nothing, where not all starters are playing, and there's vanilla play-calling. I'll wait until the regular season before I "crown their ***" or call them the "all-hype" team. It's why we play the games.

No, because in multiple posts you've come to their defense time and again. I'm not the only one to notice, but then again you're still only a few years outside of being a child so you've got time to wise up.

And because you're going to dispute your "Everything our team does sucks, but the Eagles are great" attitude:

For a Cowboys fan, 50% of your posts sure do show a tremendous amount of love for one team and one team only.

LOL! Most of those posts are from the "Dez will be the 2nd best receiver of all time" thread. I wasn't praising the Eagles at all. I was simply saying that Dez was being severely over-hyped by our fans. I was arguing that Miles is the best receiver in the division, not Dez. I still think Nicks, Jackson and Maclin are better than Dez, as well. Like I said, because I don't drink the Cowboys kool-aid, I'm a troll?

I've also said before that I'm not a blind hater. I don't hate Vick, Eli, Grossman/Beck etc just because they're division rivals. I'm a football fan first and foremost. I love the game, high-school, college and the Pros. I can give credit when credit is due -- even if that's to a division rival. I understand that many of you guys aren't wired like that, I get it. I couldn't care less about the 31 other teams in the league.

By wise-up do you mean become less-critical of the organization that has won 1 playoff game in 16 years? I'm guessing you were old enough to appreciate the Cowboys of the mid-90s? Come January each year, when the Cowboys a sent packing from the playoffs (or don't even qualify), you probably sit back and think "you know what, it's okay, we've won 5 championships and we're America's Team." Well, I'm not complacent like that. I'm allowed to be critical.

I think I'm going to spend some time away from this board. I enjoy having discussions with fellow fans, but I don't need to be criticized for not being a Cowboy-homer.

Ciao for now.
