The entire quote is very reasonable. Eagles fans are stupid. But being a fan means seeing things through rose colored glasses all the time - for some fans.
Personally, I think the Cowboys bubble is going to be burst Sunday night. I can see why the Eagles are confident.
The Eagles won 6 of their last 8 regular season games last year and their first 5 this year. That's a record of 11-2, and one of those two losses was when they played all their subs against the Cowboys first team players. They beat two good teams this year, the Vikings and Cardinals.
The Eagles are healthy, or will be Sunday night. The Cowboys are missing their starting LT and their starting QB. Those are the two most significant positions on the offense. While Tyler Smith has played really well, I think the offense would be stronger with Tyron at LT and Tyler at LG. Not offense to Connor McGovern, but Tyler Smith is clearly a stronger player. Take Hurts and Lane Johnson away from the Eagles and their offense would be significantly different too.
The Eagles are strong where the Cowboys are weak. The Eagles have 3 very strong DTs going against Connor McGovern and Tyler Biadasz. It is going to be a challenge there. On the other side, the Eagles have one of the best C in the league facing the Cowboys weak interior DL. Can anyone say Gallimore has not been a big disappointment this year after hearing all the hype in the offseason? The Eagles also have a strong secondary . Slay, Bradberry and Maddox are all playing well this year. I would not say the Cowboys WRs are especially difficult for a defense.
The Cowboys have struggled stopping the run. The Eagles are one of the best rushing offenses in the league. The Cowboys have struggled against the only mobile QB they have played this year (Daniel Jones). The Eagles have one of the best running QBs in the NFL.
With Dak and Tyron back in the lineup I would call this game pretty even, maybe edge Cowboys. But Rush is limited, not mobile against a strong pass rush, and Tyler Smith is still learning and making mistakes. The Eagles are home making it even tougher on the Cowboys offensive line. I have to give the edge to the Eagles.
If the Cowboys do find a way to win, the Eagles are going to be in for a really depressing week ahead.
