This is fun to watch play out. Former Eagles great Seth Joyner just telling it like it is.

Philly has a lot to be concerned with on Sunday. If Dallas wins, they'll implode.

Don't know why Philly will 'implode' with a win by Dallas Sunday night.
Eagles would be 5-1 with the Cowboys (and possibly the Giants).
Will have to go through their bye week with the loss...but return to action hosting the Steelers the last Sunday in October.
Still will be 11 games each over almost 3 months for the NFCE rivals to determine the division winner.

Just goes to show you how dumb their fans are over this. Lol.
Could be their fans are just overly obsessed with beating Cowboys. But I don’t buy Erods assessment that Egirls will implode if they lose.

I would disagree with that.

A win, and Dallas is in first place with the Lions and Bears next.

A loss, and the Cowboys fall two (and a half) games behind the Eagles, who will have a stranglehold on the division.
NY still only has only loss. And they have much more impressive wins.

Stranglehold is a very dramatic description after week 6. Lol

Joyner is right. His “tough love” is supposed to motivate, but people nowdays can’t take ANY kind of criticism, constructive or not. It’s everywhere. My wife watches AGT, and as long as the judges fawn over the contestants, rhapsodizing with that sickening sweet fakeness, it’s all good. But let Simon say “you sounded more natural last week”, or “that song selection doesn’t fit your style”, the audience starts booing loudly. Self esteem is so fragile in 2022. Bill Parcells retired in part because his caustic tongue alienated the modern entitled player.

The Eagles’ Super Bowl is Sunday night, and they’re desperate for relevancy. But with that relevancy comes hype and criticism, and if we beat them, the overreaction will be epic.

The entire quote is very reasonable. Eagles fans are stupid. But being a fan means seeing things through rose colored glasses all the time - for some fans.

Personally, I think the Cowboys bubble is going to be burst Sunday night. I can see why the Eagles are confident.

The Eagles won 6 of their last 8 regular season games last year and their first 5 this year. That's a record of 11-2, and one of those two losses was when they played all their subs against the Cowboys first team players. They beat two good teams this year, the Vikings and Cardinals.

The Eagles are healthy, or will be Sunday night. The Cowboys are missing their starting LT and their starting QB. Those are the two most significant positions on the offense. While Tyler Smith has played really well, I think the offense would be stronger with Tyron at LT and Tyler at LG. Not offense to Connor McGovern, but Tyler Smith is clearly a stronger player. Take Hurts and Lane Johnson away from the Eagles and their offense would be significantly different too.

The Eagles are strong where the Cowboys are weak. The Eagles have 3 very strong DTs going against Connor McGovern and Tyler Biadasz. It is going to be a challenge there. On the other side, the Eagles have one of the best C in the league facing the Cowboys weak interior DL. Can anyone say Gallimore has not been a big disappointment this year after hearing all the hype in the offseason? The Eagles also have a strong secondary . Slay, Bradberry and Maddox are all playing well this year. I would not say the Cowboys WRs are especially difficult for a defense.

The Cowboys have struggled stopping the run. The Eagles are one of the best rushing offenses in the league. The Cowboys have struggled against the only mobile QB they have played this year (Daniel Jones). The Eagles have one of the best running QBs in the NFL.

With Dak and Tyron back in the lineup I would call this game pretty even, maybe edge Cowboys. But Rush is limited, not mobile against a strong pass rush, and Tyler Smith is still learning and making mistakes. The Eagles are home making it even tougher on the Cowboys offensive line. I have to give the edge to the Eagles.

If the Cowboys do find a way to win, the Eagles are going to be in for a really depressing week ahead.

The part about Eagles fans imploding if Philly loses to the Cowboys on SNF is very true. The Eagles are viewed currently as one of the best teams in the NFC and one of the favorites to go to the Super Bowl. They are believed to have vastly improved their roster in the off season, while many fans, including Eagles fans believe that the Cowboys got worst during the off season. The Cowboys are coming on the road with a back up QB. And Jalen Hurts is playing at home, with viewed as a top 5 NFL offense weapons and production wise.

All of these factors play a role in why Eagles fans are going to meltdown if they end up losing to the Cowboys on Sunday night.

Once defense, always defense…. He was misquoted, but that’s where it’s coming from.
Yes here is what he said
I hate when a QUOTE out of my mouth is not complete! Give the entire quote! "The Cowboys will come in here and embarass the hell out of them on SNF, "IF THEY DO NOT FIGURE THINGS OUT!!" Is what I said in totality!!

he said they need to pick up blitz's better and some other things. he said it was great they won, and that they are 5-0, but they have some
things they need to fix before they play the cowboys.
He said the dallas defense was formidable , and if they dont take it seriously then they might be in for a surprise.
He had just watched dallas beat the rams.

They will only have a stranglehold if they're actually a good team. Which frankly has yet to be proven. If they can boat race the Cowboys then we can have that conversation. If they eke out a close win over a team with a backup QB at the helm then they will have proven nothing except that they are (slightly) better than the Cowboys with their backup QB at the helm. They will still have the psychological disadvantage of having failed to get within 20 points of the Cowboys the last two times they've played with Dak at the helm. Anything short of a double digit win for them this Sunday comes with a "yeah but..." Plain and simple.
I disagree because I do not think the hangover from season to season is a thing anymore. Teams change too much and the Eagles do not think they are that team of 2021, which did end up making the playoffs.

Yea but who expects them to go undefeated. They’re going to lose to somebody.

He's saying that the Eagles still have flaws, despite being 5-0 and they shouldn't be getting too cocky or arrogant in themselves, because once they go into games not respecting their opponent, then they'll end up being in for a few losses or will get upset. Really don't see why Eagles fans have a problem with this, as they should want their team to realize they have areas to improve in, if they really wish to be strong playoff and Super Bowl contenders.

Unfortunately I don’t think the Egirls have to worry. They should win this game .

But I don’t think they are as good as their record.

Some think that they could at least go 10-0. And yes some Eagles fans and media are even starting to look ahead of their schedule and believes they could potentially go 17-0.

The editing of Joyner's comments speaks about the inciting mature of the press more than it does about what Joyner truly feels. His addendum, which was redacted by the press to have a titivating aspect was simple. If the Eagles don't stop the Dallas rush from getting to Hurts they could lose.

To the editing press......"Mission accomplished."

There certainly was no reason to cut the quote off at that point when you gave the rest of it, other than to make it inciteful. There are obviously times when you only quote a portion of what someone says because it's too long or for some other reason. If JAKIB Sports is any kind of respected media outlet (and not just some blogger or something like that), it should at least publicly reprimand whoever posted it like that.

"That defense is formidable. That defense is no joke." Seth Joyner

I know I said after the 49ers loss that I would be even keel with our team until they got past the divisional round. I lied! This defense makes me a believer. GO COWBOYS!!!!

I've been expecting losses in every game, especially with a backup quarterback playing. I'm not about to change my expectations now and have a loss actually happen and devastate me. These last few weeks have been fun. (OK, full disclosure, I wasn't completely expecting a loss against Washington because the Commodores are just a bad team.)
