The abductor muscles are in the hip and leg area. But there seems to be confusion about what the injury actually is. On the one hand I read it is an abductor injury which is a group of muscles in the hip area. Yahoo Sports claims it is an adductor injury, which is a group of muscle located at the inner thigh, groin area. A tear of any of the muscles in either group is going to seriously effect the performance of any football player at any position.

Johnson is optimistic probably because the pain may have subsided for the time being. And since it is torn, or detached already there is not much chance of making it worse. But when he tries to play he may find his balance is a little off and he can't more laterally like he is used to. If he was a LT with an injury to his left abductors he would not be able to play. DEs would abuse him.
But they will use a retractor?

From an orthopedic perspective, that tendon is not going to be healed in 4 weeks. If they were considering surgery it must of been at least a grade 2 or greater injury. If he does play, he will be a liability as he won't be able to take a wide stance in pass or run blocking enough to stabilize through an injured groin.

Physically, I just cannot see him actually being effective; even against backups with a moderate-severe groin injury.

Philly are screwed. lol I commend Lane Johnson for wanting to play but that injury on the line of scrimmage with big men on the defense pounding on you? I don't see him getting through it or playing at his normal high level

So, ya think Big Mike will order a van load of Muffalettas for the New Orleans staff after they chew on Minshew?

It tells you what they think of the backup. I got news for everybody, their new right tackle will get killed. He isn't good at all and there is no way that Lane Johnson can play with that injury and be anywhere close to what he was.

I think he will try to practice in 3 weeks and and will quickly realize he can't play anywhere near 100%. I would bet money he does not play again this season.
You mean a 300+ man trying to brace and hold his ground against 250+ men could be bothered by a adductor tear? Lol.

Actually their backup RT Driscoll is pretty solid. But he’s a backup and is replacing the best OT in the nfl.

We don’t even know what adductor muscle was torn…they are not all equal in terms of how effective you can be. He won’t be out there unless he can be effective.

He ain’t playing with an injury like that. Eagles aren’t going to say he is out for the season, but they will in the playoffs.
That is def possible. He has been playing with it for a few weeks though. We won’t know until the div round what the real deal is with that injury.

I really think losing Lane really hurts the entire offense since it needs near perfection for their RPO

This means that defensive coordinators are going to be sending pressure hard to Lane's side of the field. Respect him for trying to play through injury, but not sure how long he will last against the top pass rushers the Eagles OL is going to see.
True - I would expect there would be extra TE help.

Respect his toughness and grit. He won’t be at 100%
I doubt Hurts will be 100 percent either. The Iggles may be primed for a second round/ first playoff game exit. Sure hope its the Boys who are the ones to do it - how sweet that would be.
