Eagles own Saints 1st rd pick

The Michael Vick that played for Philly was one scary dude on the field. I know Giants and Washington fans that still have nightmares about him. If they thought he could play at prime Vick level he'd be signed already. I can't think of another QB I ever saw that had his combination of arm strength, pure speed, and running ability. Hurts is nowhere near that level. The only QB's I can think of that had that arm are Testeverde and Cunningham (pure strength).
No of course not, I'm just wondering do they view him as being someone who trends closer to those guys than someone who is a marginal starter. Right now he's playing at a high level.

Currently holding the 6th pick in the first round right now with the Saints sitting at 3-6. With the team they've assembled right now this could definitely be a case of the rich getting richer in our division.
Hate when other FOs are so much smarter than ours.
Chase em down Jerry!

And currently have the league's best record, plus in position to garner the no. 1 = playoff bye for the first round.
And that is why Cowboys Zone member 'nate dizzle' made this thread about the potentially high 1st round pick PHL got from NO - it is a valued asset that can contribute to them boistering their team beyond what happens this postseason.
Good for them

Look for that to get even better with the saints remaining schedule. If that pick gets to number 1 overall that Michael Irvin dynasty prediction starts to get scary. howie roseman plus the 1st overall pick? How many future 1st would he turn that into. While we live with the Jones. Go saints!

Jordan Davis last years 1st round pick at 13 overall has not exactly lived up to expectations.
Currently on IR.

He wasn't racking up stats but looked like he was a big piece of their run defense.

Just saying I love the comp not using high draft capital appropriately.
Davis is not even a 3 down DL in this league, he hasn't proven anything.

Their GM will be moving up to select a QB..........Ya his name isn't Jerry.:muttley:
The Gagles are looking to take over the NFC East for the upcoming years and they are not hiding this fact.
Our options are few as the Cap will have us handcuffed.
Eagle got to pay Hurts next year. I hope they pay him soon. Rpo wont work forever but don’t tell Howie that:muttley:

Every team eventually pays that starter, you just better hope that the one you are paying can live up to franchise standards.

Why the infatuation with Philly? If we play well, we should be them.

So him having a high ankle sprain makes him a bad pick? He’ll be back in a few weeks

Or they could draft a bust.

It's likely the first few picks will be QBs for QB needy teams.

Which means it's very possible they'll be in a position with a Top 5 pick to draft the best player in the draft. Great. OR. trade it for a draft haul that will secure them for 5 more years.

It's not impossible that they could end up with the 1st pick in the first round, and the LAST pick in the first round....which has never happened before. That would sicken me....as it would be like Elon Musk buying a lottery ticket and winning 50 million dollars.

Can I not enjoy his absence in the meantime.

Yeah really. Let's face it,....we'd all love to have him on THIS team, but he isn't, so let us enjoy his misfortune for the few weeks he won't be in there!

The Eagles haven't beaten a single respectable team all year.

Roseman and that organization deserve a lot of credit for such a quick turnaround. They’re already well-stocked and have quality young players waiting in the wings for both Cox and Kelce. They’ve managed big-spending with their cap very well also. And either Hurts continues to improve and they pay him, or they use their draft resources to draft his replacement.

Credit where credit is due, they’re in good position.
Its a strong year for QB's. You could possibly get Rookie Herbert Lite production from a rookie next year. And with their OL and receiving threats, a rookie would be primed to succeed.

They may have to trade picks in order to get a top QB even of the Saints pick lands a #6, but it would be worth it for them. I dont think Hurts is the guy, but he has also helped his trade value too so that works in their favor

What? I’ve read that he was very good and was getting better every week till his injury. I would love to have him here. Unfortunately, based on some NFL Dr. analyst I read said that he’ll be back to 100% by the time they play us

If they do get the top pick, I wonder if they would consider trading hurts for a ransom, then getting five cheap years of Stroud. I guess which helps you win games? a first overall QB on a rookie deal, or, a very good five year veteran at 45 mill per season… I wonder if at some point teams start to let Quarterbacks ‘graduate’ at the end of the rookie deal rather than pay them such a huge chunk of the cap.
