Once again underscoring how crazy the QB market is. Surely fans understand that the scarcity of QB talent in this league is dictating market prices. Not what QBs have acccomplished.
And yet, Cooper Rush lead to 4-1 before being ushered back to the bench.

The owners made their own bed with these contracts because at this point if 2 or 3 owners try to significantly reduce the salaries at the QB position the first thing that will happen is the NFLPA will file suit for collusion....

It's official.

This board is overrun with Eagles fans.

Mods need to clean it up.
It’s overrun with bitter fans. I guess you’d prefer a rule that forbids complimenting a player from any franchise except Dallas.

A few things to ponder:

1. How many rings would Peyton Manning have if he played for half of what he was paid? How many rings would he have taken away from Brady?

2. Rodgers is viewed as a HOF QB but has only one ring. Does Rodgers’ cap hit have anything to do with that?

3. How many rings did Russell Wilson win after he signed his massive deal?

It is ignorant to believe that a QB’s cap hit does not affect the team that can be assembled around the QB. The window for Hurts and the Eagles probably won’t close before this season starts, but it will most likely be slammed shut by the start of the 2025 season.

Some people forget that the NFC Champ game would have been a totally different game if the Niners would have had a QB. Their D basically shut Hurts down til they wore out and the Eagles controlled the game by running on them.

Hurts is still limited as a passer and his game is built around his ability to run. The Eagles have done a very good job building their offense around his strengths and supporting him with a great team including an OL, running attack, great receivers who win one on one matchups and a defense.

He played well in the SB but they are still only the second team in history to blow a double digit halftime lead in the SB. If the Eagles were going to win that game Hurts and the offense had to win it in the second half because their defense gave up points. But they had to settle for a couple of fgs on key drives and had a couple 3 and outs.

Time will tell if Hurts is worth that type of commitment from the Eagles.

Dak’s contract isn’t looking so bad now. Lol Hopefully this will get some of the haters to stop bellyaching about it. If you don’t pay at least $40 million per for a QB you’re going to be stuck with nothing at the position. This is life in the NFL today.

Lol, I mean there is no logic behind this. There are ~1 million doctors in just the USA, and we have 32 NFL starting QB's.
Simple supply and demand. There are maybe 5 elite guys. To me this shows how underpaid Mahomes is and how underpaid Brady was.

Wait until you see Burrow & Herbert's contract.

The Dak contract is bad, but can you possibly view it as the death blow that many make it out to be when players like Danny Dimes and Jalen Hurts are making $40mil/year and $51/year annually in our own division?
Yes . . . Yes we can. We are going into His 3rd year of His 3rd Contract . . . We lost talent on Offense via Free Agency and are only relevant because Of Quinn, Parsons, Kearse and Diggs

If not for Dak we would have been in the Super Bowl by now

We all know why they like Him . . . The same reason they like Dak
I like Hurts the person and neither Dak nor Hurts contract influences that feeling at all. We bash athletes for doing the exact same thing we would do if we were in that situation. It’s classic hater mentality.

Dak is better than Hurts and y’all know how I feel about Dak.

Casual fan can’t see that right now though because they get caught up in a stat or pff grade.
Hurts can run which must be factored in . . . For what they bring to the table they are equals

This isn’t good news for the Ravens. Lamar Jackson’s price probably just went up.

Lol. I am sorry, but I don’t think this has any validity whatsoever. In order to collude they would actually have to talk and agree to reset the market. Moreover anti-trust laws are modified for football in the first place.

What is likely to happen, at some point, is for teams to decide to stop stupidly paying average QBs top money. The Ravens made the right play—they gave the non-exclusive franchise tag to Lamar and no team is going to give up two picks AND pay Lamar the going rate. I have been saying it for years. That is the right play.

There are probably not 5 QBs in the NFL that are worth two first round picks AND a massive deal. That type of deal “guts” your team.

It will be interesting to see what the Eagles do with A.J. Brown. They can choose to pay him, but with Hurts’ contract that really starts to pinch the rest of the roster.

Or you cam pay 40 million for a nothing at QB

Knock it off . . . Dak's contract was putrid and this contract is insane
