No he played great in the Super Bowl.

He’s a really good fit in that system. But I think a lot of mobile QBs who don’t make stupid decisions would be great in that system.

Teams were literally begging Hurts to throw this year. That’s how bad it got.

Also, Philly played out front in most of their games. They didn’t need Hurts to go win games by actually playing like a traditional QB very often.

Even if he was a truly elite QB it would be difficult for them to ever win a title with this contract.
LOL. Why do I think you’ll be trashing Hurts as he holds his third Lombardi trophy.

Lol Hurts is much better than cam newton… When you take into account what’s inside of the skull.
Possibly.

But Hurts ascended to different levels as soon as they drafted Smith and traded for Brown.

Cam played with guys like Jericho Cotchery, Kelvin Benjamin, Torrey Smith etc

That definitely helped… But his skill level also dramatically improved. I mean watch his passes year one versus last year. Quite a drastic improvement.

Murray was $160 I thought.

Hurts is $179.
That’s Murray’s injury guarantee. Along With the signing bonus it’s 189m

Btw, I was saying Dak > Hurts in the middle of all the Hurts hype.

Marts agrees with me for whatever that is worth.

Once again underscoring how crazy the QB market is. Surely fans understand that the scarcity of QB talent in this league is dictating market prices. Not what QBs have acccomplished.
Who cares . . . this assessment is trash

This quarterback market is beyond crazy. Honestly feel it's going to come to a breaking point soon.

I am highly against paying people based upon one break out year in any position. He has improved yearly and did take them to the superbowl however was it an outlier playing behind the best OL in football and stout offense support. Would have waited to see his last year on his rookie contract.

Beyond lunacy
I agree in principle that Hurts is overpaid. On the other hand, by signing Hurts a year early they can DCA his yearly cost down by stretching it out over the final year of his rookie deal. At least that’s how I understand it.

Lamar has to realize Watson is the lone outsider for a fully guaranteed contract.

With Hurts signing that deal, it's only up to Burrows and Herbert to reset the market but I doubt they get fully guaranteed deals. If they don't, the writing is on the wall for LJ.

Had to be done and they got it done without dragging it out and affecting preparation for the season.
Like all these deals, time will tell.

I think Hurts is good in that system. That’s it though.
How would Tom Brady,in his prime, do in the Eagles system. It’s Tom Brady lol, so it’s probably fine… But definitely not as good as Tom Brady in the patriot system.

Actually no, it’s not the signing bonus but the fully guaranteed fifth year option on his rookie deal that was 29m$. So it’s the semantics of whether you include totality of what he’s under contract for or only the extension. The extensions are the only apples to apples thing to compare as Hurts does not have a fifth year option, but the guarantees left in the rookie deal are still what needs to be paid to the player over the course of the extension, which should be considered

He threw the ball well this season if you are referring to that.

But regardless it’s a big deal he was going to get from someone let’s hope it brings them down to earth a bit in terms of cap management and maybe we can take an advantage before we have to extend our quarterback who also requires the perfect team around him…
