Eagles re-signed QB Mark Sanchez to a two-year, $9 million contract.
The deal includes $5.5 million guaranteed. Sanchez can earn another $7 million via incentives. It's believed announcing Jeremy Maclin's re-signing is next on the docket for the aggressive Eagles. Sanchez, 28, finished the 2014 season with a 64.1 completion rate, 14:11 TD-to-INT ratio, and 7.8 YPA -- all career bests -- but got worse the more he played and shouldn't be viewed by the Eagles as more than a desperate option to start games. As the Eagles are very likely to draft a quarterback, the re-signing of Sanchez signals that Nick Foles is on his way out, likely via trade. Mar 8 - 7:16 PM

Looks like Foles is gone and Mariota is certainly coming through the draft.

In order to get Mariota they will have to trade their entire draft class, and maybe picks next year.

2 years and 9 million for a backup? Is that the market price?

Last thing I saw was 1&2 this year and 1&2 next year.

Washington gave up 3 No 1's and a 2 and they went 6 to 2.
Philly has to go 20 to 6 if the Jets are their partner.

I think the Jets need to up the ante. Here's the thing. If somebody else undercuts them or another team drafts Mariota, they are left with Foles who the have been trying to dump all off season. It's just insane in this day and age that a guy would throw the entire franchise in on a player who "fits" his system and I still don't get the 32 year old Frank Gore signing.

What in the world are they doing?

I hope the Sanchize starts every game for the Eagles next year! Adds a little more lighter fluid to their dumpster fire. :)

The Gore signing makes no sense to me either. They seem to be making some questionable moves. This is Chips's team and he is shopping for the groceries.

Trading multiple #1 picks can cripple a franchise, just look at Washington. And look at what happened to us when we traded for Roy Williams. Not to mention Joey Galloway.

If the Eagles mortgage their draft or next 2 drafts for Mariota they will be making a mistake.

Here's the thing, as a back up Sanchez is fine, but 4.5 mil is a lot for a back up. Now if Chippy doesn't go after Mariotta then, eh, good for us another year of the Sanchize.

They will have to get to #2 to get Mariota as I think the Titans will take him. That's not happening unless they mortgage their future.

I would support that.

IMO, they would use Foles as trade bait. Either for a draft pick, or to move up in a package deal.

I'd love to see the Eagles give up all their picks for Mariota. But like it was mentioned, they will have to go so high. I'm not sure it will happen.

Then we get Sanchez. I'm good with that too.

I could see them using Foles as part of the package to move up. A team like Tennessee may value him.

Foles was an INT machine last year and has been hurt every season he has played. His trade value isn't all that great, he certainly is not an established starting QB.

But some team would see a starting caliber QB packaged with a ton of draft picks. It's hard to resist IMO.
