I am sure some here will poo poo it but the Eagles have built themselves a pretty competent offense, certainly a better one than last years.

Will be another player that the Pats let go a year early vs a year late. All that cap room and they didn't sign him....hmmmm.

What's the deal with Matthews, then? Does he have a cliff in his contract? They've got him, Blount, Sproles, and Pumphery now. They're not carrying all four into the season...

He's getting cut it is being reported. They can't count on him to stay healthy.

Makes sense. I didn't think they'd be in a place to let Sproles walk yet.

So, basically, this gives them a similar grade of player but an all around better mix of RBs. And saves some cap space and expense. Makes sense for them.

That's too bad. Was holding out some hope he'd end up here. Doesn't fit the team's roster design I guess.

You guys kill me. Best back in football on the roster and you pine for another.

Ya know, like we did with Emmitt.

I'd be less likely to pine if the coaches wouldn't allow David Johnson to outsnap Zeke by 250 in a season and DeMarco to outsnap him by 150. Also I am not enthusiastic about Morris.

On the surface this appears to be a solid move for the Eagles. On the other hand, the Patriots always seem to get rid of guys who just drop off the face of the earth after leaving there.

Not because of this move, but if I take my homer glasses off....
the NFC East is going to be a battle

Yeah, I think each team has a legit chance to win the division. I think the Cowboys are best positioned for the future. Washington has the most fuzzy future IMO. Giants are behind them due to what happens when they need to replace Manning. Is his replacement on the roster? With that being said, I would say Dallas is the favorite. Although Dallas doesn't have a good track record of handing success from a previous year.

Mathews is supposedly getting cut as soon as he's healthy.

They had i believe 4 on their roster the majority of last year. Sproles, Mathews, Smallwood and Barner.

I'd bet they carry 4 and Pumphrey pretty much redshirts and apprentices under Sproles.

Barner was cut and is now on the Chargers. They have a guy named Marshall they kept. Word is that as soon as Matthews passes a physical he is gone.
