Eagles trade C Cam Jurgens to Ravens

The Eagles GM knows what he is doing. if he was willing to trade Jurgens then he already has a replacement to step in.

The Eagles will do some retooling, same as they did when they won their first Super Bowl. Rebuilding is an obsolete concept.

With free agency and the salary cap, all teams are constantly "updating" their rosters.

We thought they were idiots when tgey drafted Hurts. Two superbowls later...
Actually, it was Eagles fans that thought they were idiots. I remember the YouTube videos.

However, that wasn't even half as bad as when the Cowboys beat them to CeeDee. The Eagles fans wanted him bad.

They ended up taking a bust, Jalen Reagor. The very next pick the Vikings took Justin Jefferson.

Hee Hee......

Eagles are smart to dump players when they know this isn't their year.theyll reload quickly.

That’s not smart. I don’t think this move has any reflection on this year. They believe they got better simply getting rid of Jurgens. Eagles will be making moves to make them better this year. They are still a hand behind Giants. Cowboys and Eagles should be salivating.

Trading Jurgens is about the future not now. They probably have someone they feel can be ok replacing him. But eating some money next year while squirting needed picks to help reload an aging offense is smart going forward. They aren't better today but they could be better for it in the next 2 years.

T

He "Top QBs in the 2027 draft", which was being hyped as an all time class, isn't looking so jot after one month of college ball. Arch went from unquestioned #1 overall, to maybe top 10 in a month. What will he be by December? Top 20ish? 25?
Heck, we might be able to get him.

The other QBs aren't killing it either....except for the small guy Trinidad Chandelier
At least get the kid's name right. It's Trinidad Chambliss, and I like him too.

I heard it here that the Eagirls have the best GM in the entire world and that they could continue rolling contracts forward for eternity because the cap always goes up. Come to find out, they mortgaged their future for immediate potential help.

Based on what I read this is a addition by subtraction move. Jergens has not played well they get a 2nd round pick for 2028 and improve their line. Seems he just wasn't a fit at guard.

The Eagles do suck and so do their fans.
I agree, but my response to your boy Rambro's take, They could finish last this year, applies to every team in the division.

Any one of the four could end up at the bottom, sleeping with the catfish.

The Eagles look like the favorite to finish last.

Lemon was a terrible pick for a qb like Hurts.
You think I'm tough on Dak? Hurts has a SB and I would be banned from every board based on his below average passing ability. He's a pitcher who had 2 pitches - fastball and a changeup. But now, the fastball isn't as fast...the changeup doesn't work at all, so he's really got no pitch that the batters can't see coming. That's the offense under Hurts...the route concepts are all the same and he won't let the ball go and make accurate throws into the teeth of the defense. Only boundary throws or motion/play-action plays.

Contrary opinion here, but Jurgens has never been that good. He made his name when surrounded by and all-star offensive line of Lane, Johnson, Mekhi Becton, Landon Dickerson and Jordan Mialata. But anyone who watched his closely could see he was mid at best. The Eagles fans are saying the Ravens got fleeced in this trade because Jurgens has been really bad the last two year.

Perhaps the Eagles were planning on benching him and this move makes it easier.

But let's talk about the Eagles front office. Once again they show they are willing to dump their players at any time, especially if they become a problem on the field or in the locker room. At the same time, it was predictable that they would be moving or cutting players because they have committed a ton of money in the future, mostly from option bonuses. Moving players relieves them of the CAP burden of paying those option bonuses every year. Don't be too surprised if Jalen Hurts gets traded after this year.
