Eagles trade for DT Timmy Jernigan

Good trade for the Eagles for a year rental. He is in the last year of his contract and it will be interesting if the Eagles resign him.

Thought it was a trade for Jernigan for the Eagles 3rd rounder straight up. Didn't know the Ravens sent the Eagles a 3rd rounder too. No-brainer for the Eagles.

Replacement for Logan?
Yes, they plan to use him at right defensive tackle next to Fletcher Cox.

Their issue with Logan is that while he could hold the point, he was not every disruptive. They feel Jernigan will give a better inside push.

Glad Jerry didn't make this move, it would be idiotic then..championship Eagles

You never know with FA, but the Eagles appear to have had a solid offseason. I think a running back has to be had in the first four rounds but they have a chance to really improve that team via FA and the draft. If Carson is the real deal, they may be the biggest threat to Dallas over the next few years. I would say the Giants, but they need to improve that offense which they should be able to do via the draft. Although they also have to start thinking about post Manning and that is going to be a huge concern soon to very soon.

I agree they started the season looking crazy good then fell off. They've added good pieces so far.

Might be negative, but it's 100% accurate.

No, it's totally false. The organization has had a clear focus the last 4 years and you are seeing the results. Haters like yourself just love to hate on something.

No, check my history, more of a homer than a hater, but am frustrated at the deals and creativity that other front offices are doing for productive players. We are not. Eagles and Pats aren't even giving up picks, just swapping spots, which in a very deep draft, impacts your team ever so slightly. Yet, we give $17 mill to Thornton in FA. So, unless you have more facts to back up your statement, don't tell me it's totally false, and don't call me a hater. Mahalo~

When was the last time the Eagles had a winning season?

When was the last time the Eagles won the division?

Hell, when was the last time the Eagles won a playoff game?

I'm glad we're not following whatever the hell their "model" is.

13-3 are the facts jack.

Eagles 14-2 (Super Bowl Champion)
Giants 10-6 (Playoffs)
Cowboys 6-10
Commanders 6-10

The draft can change things but that's where I have the division right now.

Hit that Like tab.

Good trade for both sides. Eagles give up what amounts to a compensatory 3rd in a deep draft for a one-year rental on a good interior DL, which they needed. Ravens shed a player they were unlikely to resign. Tough to say who comes out ahead here.

lol
It is posts like this that tell us everything we need to know about your IQ

The Eagles dropped 15 slots in Rd 3 they did not "give up what amounts to a comp 3rd in a deep draft"

"Tough to say who comes out ahead "

I guess we'll know when cox and Jernigan line up next to each other

No offense, visionary, it you're not exactly the most qualified person to be making IQ judgements on other people's posts. Because your post history consists mostly of shitposts or personal attacks. Like this one.

If you want to be taken seriously, start posting seriously. And don't just scurry off when you're proven wrong. From the Ravens perspective:

"Moving up 25 spots has essentially the same value of gaining a late third-round pick, which would have been the best-case scenario in a compensatory pick situation, and it comes two years earlier. After drafting 11 players last year (all still with the team), the Ravens need better young players, not necessarily more."

Here's a point-chart if you want to do the math yourself. Also, 99 minus 74 is not '15.'

It's definitely a boost to the Eagles next year. Then the guy is a free agent. Whereas they gave up the equivalent of 4 years of a top 100 player in a deep draft if you put any credibility in the draft value chart. Will he deliver in one year the equivalent of what they'd have gotten from another player over four? He might.

Like I said, it's an interesting trade for both teams. Though I have to admit I wasn't weighing the value of a compensatory pick for Baltimore if Jernigan were to play well again and walk after next year.

If he does walk after next year, I think that actually gives Philly a comp pick. I base this on the story that we might have gotten one for Cooper when we first picked him up.
