Not that I think that they are trading Brown, the Eagles in the past have shown they are willing to eat huge sums of money for higher draft picks. That's why they are asking I'm guessing a 1 and a 3? He'll be a 29-year-old receiver he's not worth that much compensation, but they won't back off that number because the acquiring team will be paying for the Eagles to eat all that money.

After the draft, because Brown is not being traded until June, teams in need of receivers will have drafted one. The only teams willing to give up anything for Brown will be teams that think he puts them in the Super Bowl. Those teams are smart ones. The Eagles might get a couple of second picks for A J Brown, at best.

I can't even see that much, but you did say at best.
Come June it may be more of a salary dump type trade. It goes back to why no one is giving up 2 1st round picks and a huge contract for Pickens. So for Brown, I see it as about the same. Trade away high draft picks and take on the big contract for a troubled player. Which Brown is. But Pickens is not as bad as what fans and media say.

A plus for Brown is he’s under contract and the guaranteed money is almost gone. And he’ll soon be out of the top ten in wide receiver pay. In the near future, Pickens will be one of the at least ten wide receivers well ahead of him. I agree, Eagles aren’t going to get even 2nd rounders for him unless they’re sending draft picks of their own with him.

There’s a certain irony that the big dollar deal Brown signed has now got him stuck in Philadelphia. It’s a cautionary tale for all players anxious to sign the long term deals for top compensation.

It’s also a group here that praises every trade Howie has made and for the last two off seasons it’s been some suspect moves. It doesn’t erase his accomplishments but he has questionable moves as well. This is the 3rd receiver they’ve traded for in 2 years….other two flopped. Mind you this is coming off the heels of drafting Jalen Raegor and JJ Artega Whiteside.

You are an excellent poster here. But I have never quite followed how the Eagles personnel failures are such a sticking point with you when they are not recognized.

It's just credit where credit is due when comparing his roster building as compared to Jerrys with the Cowboys.

I mean, I get it. I'm a huge Playmaker fan too. Their fans cheering his injury on their field still does not sit well with me til this day either.

But to always double down so hard on their front office mistakes without also comparing the Cowboy continuing GM ineptitude just seems a little below your strong posting reputation.

My opinion.

Me pointing out Eagles flaws doesn’t mean Cowboys haven had poor GMing. And for the record I only point them out when Eagles make a move and it gets hyped. My point isn’t the moves won’t work. It’s that it may not work. I said it when they traded for Dotson and Metchie. I said it when they traded for Tank. To be fair I also said it when they traded for Phillips who did play well. Price tag probably got too ridiculous. Move cost them a 3rd.

My views on Eagles or any team isolated from cowboys. I don’t believe because I’m a Cowboy fan I can’t be critical of other teams.

Cautionary tale? What's he going to do if he doesn't get traded; throw a stack of $25,000 across the living room in frustration? Give me that "cautionary tale" any day. Who in their right mind is going to tell their agent to sign for less just in case they run afoul of team management someday? That agent would be like, "excuse me, I have to take a call, be right back" and never be heard from again.

We have to keep it in context though, we’re taking about a receiver who was once perennial all pro vs a guy making 6m. If Hollywood is 1/3rd of Tyreek that’s a huge win for philly
